Day 7 all time mavericks list.. Who would you say had the most wasted potential?

Luka was the runaway winner for most potential on the last post!

  1. Roy Tarpley, on his way to being an all star and the missing piece for our contending late 80s team, only to get suspended for 4 years.

  2. I don’t think he’s the “most” wasted, but I see no one has mentioned the original “savior” of the rebuild, Dennis Smith Jr., man was screwed the moment he got drafted onto Carlisle’s team sadly.

  3. Easily roy tarpley, never got to watch him live but I heard that he screwed himself with that suspension

  4. I’ve only seen Tarpley highlights, so I can’t speak much about him.

My vote goes to Porzingis of course.

  5. KP, beaubois (avery never gave him a chance), devin harris (avery limited him as well and then we gave him to the nets when he was entering his prime)

  6. Why are people saying Mark Aguirre, he consistently took the Mavs to the playoffs. A lot of the great players of the 80s are disrespected, I don’t understand it.

  7. There’s a player named Jay Vincent back in the 80s I’m quite a young MFFLer ( I’m 22 ) so I need a bit of context about this one from the older fans since his falloff is ala OJ Mayo or Tyreek Evans and I’ll consider him if there’s a bit more context from older fans

Basically as a 22 yrs old rookie drafted in the 2nd round he had a ridiculous start to his career 22 pts 8 rbs and 2 ast on 50% shooting with a rookie start like that you’ll imagine him being part of the team for a while

But no, his stats fell off every season and in just five years he’s been bouncing from team to team

Ps. He’s also the best answer for the immaculate grid for Mavs who scored 20+ ppg in a season that’s why I know about him from browsing bball ref

[here’s his bball ref page ](https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/v/vinceja01.html)

I know what happened to Tarpley and he’s truly my vote but this guy just puzzled me cause of that electric rookie start to having a mediocre career overall
