A’s say there is no guarantee that potential playoff games will be in Sacramento

  1. > ““Home” postseason games are not guaranteed to be played at Sutter Health Park. In the event a “home” postseason game occurs at an alternate location, A’s season ticket holders will have priority purchase access for tickets.”

Incoming “won’t make the playoffs so it doesn’t matter” jokes, but this whole thing is such a farce.

  2. I can’t decide if I find it more comical that they’re addressing a potential playoff game at all or that they’re pretty much saying, “Fuck you Sacramento. We just want to borrow your AAA stadium without potentially bringing any benefits to your city if we play well.”

  3. I hope the Vegas deal falls and Sacramento kicks them out after 3 years.

Fisher deserves all the bad things.

  4. Reminded of the Jim Mora quote: “Don’t talk about – playoffs?! You kiddin’ me? Playoffs?! I just hope we can win a game!”

  5. I’m not too surprised; capacity at Sutter Health is less than 20K. Also like Carmichael Dave was quoted in saying, Sac is nothing more than a glorified Air BnB. I’m not from there, but I would imagine it comes off as disrespectful to some Sacramento folks that the ~~Wanderers~~ A’s won’t even have “Sacramento” on their uniforms or in their name next year.

  6. So, potentially, at least, you’re asking Sacramento to support *two* teams, with the potential of no home postseason games if they’re both successful.

With the 2025 schedule, and the way the Pacific Coast League does it’s postseason, if the RiverCats earn the right to host the PCL Championship Series by having the best record in the first half-season, they can’t host it, because the A’s have their last homestand of the season right after the Cats end their regular season.

  7. I hope they make a postseason game and every owner refuses to allow them to use their stadium as a neutral site for the A’a home games and they are forced to play those games back inside the Coliseum

  8. Lot of comments in here joking about the playoffs. The A’s are a lot closer to the playoffs than people think. They’re certainly closer than the Angels are.

What a middle finger to Sacramento.

  9. 2025 AL Wild Card series will be played in Oakland between the Royals and the “Oakland Athletics of Sacramento of Las Vegas in Oakland”

  10. I won’t be a fan after they leave Oakland but what a (maybe deserved) kick in the nuts for the people signing up for the West Sac A’s.

  11. So the people that support the team in Sacramento don’t even get to see them play in the postseason? Lmao.

  12. Fuck it, is that temporary “stadium” in Dyersville, Iowa built for the Field of Dreams game a couple years back still there?

Just move ‘em out there, why don’t you. Makes as much sense as any of the rest of this malarkey.

  13. MLB will move those games to Oracle Park so the Sacramento games don’t look like a public black eye to them in October.

They told the Cubs in the mid-80s, “if you don’t put lights in, your home games won’t be played at Comiskey but at Busch Stadium in St. Louis.”

  14. Neutral site “home” playoff games lol. Until Fisher, after saying a scaled down development in Oakland was impossible, instantly built a scaled down development in Vegas I thought that he was being reasonable with what he was asking for compared to what he was spending, (so was Oakland in not wanting to get stuck with any kind of major financial commitment to a new stadium when they’re still paying for fucking mount davis after the Raiders came back and then left again) but this shit is the final exclamation point on this turning from a tragedy into a farce.

  15. If the A’s won’t be putting up a playoff-worthy stadium, they just shouldn’t get any home playoff games if they make it. Hit Fissure in the wallet where it really hurts

  16. I can think of a former MLB stadium with 56,000 seats that’s still standing and that could absolutely host playoff games. Won’t have any trouble with that Canadian weather under the dome….

  17. Fisher “Why worry about something that isn’t going to happen?”

Oakland Fans “Why worry about something that isn’t going to happen?” Oh, that’s perfect. They should put that on our jerseys”

  18. Better hope the A’s don’t make the playoffs then before they have an actual stadium because this screams MLB testing out neutral playoff sites for all teams to boost revenue.

  19. Weren’t the Cubs threatened with losing World Series home games in 1984 due to no lights? (They didn’t make it, so nothing happened)

  20. I know Manfred is just the owners lackey but you would think some of the rest of the owners would like nothing better than to leverage Fisher to sell at this point. This guy is a huge blackeye for the sports ownership right now.
