Bengals Offensive Line Finally Looked Better

While I think the running game is just broken (and I believe it to be more of a play calling issue), I couldn’t help but notice that the offensive line was definitely pass blocking better than usual. On top of that, Volson put up a ‘clean sheet’ and didn’t allow a single pressure on Burrow.

How great would it be for the teams salary cap situation if Volson finally developed into a top 10 offensive guard for virtually no money for a few years?

On top of that, I think Trent Brown was rough but I’m hoping they switch Mims in for him after a few weeks anyway. If you have any other thoughts (pessimism totally allowed, hard to believe they might finally improve 😂), please share them below!

  1. I feel like we aren’t giving Burrow enough blame for this loss. Yes the run defense imploded and Zac was making boneheaded decisions and playcalls all game but Burrow did have a clean pocket multiple times which ended up in incompletions or checkdowns. Hopefully he bounces back next game, ZT cleans up his act, some players get healthier and we find a way to stop Pacheco and we could win it.

  2. Let’s hope, also, sometime in the near future, refs actually call a hold on Trey. Ya know, seeing as how it happens like 99% of the time and is never called.

  3. Joe was WAYYYY to quick to bring his eyes down and hit the check down. Guy was fabricating pressure that wasn’t even there.

  4. Joe had mere moments to get the ball out, and the run game looked lame.
I was frustrated the entire time I watched. Coaching shouldn’t feel like they’re immune to scrutiny here.

The worst thing that happened to Bengals fans is that Joe Burrow went to the Super Bowl and Zac Taylor was the head coach at the time.

  5. The game started with 2 sacks and a holding penalty.

Fans were crying because Burrow couldn’t play under center and was only throwing quick short passes. That’s because he had no time in the pocket to drop back when under center, and no time to wait and throw deep.
The line as always was a huge liability.
