  1. I’m fairly certain they would’ve called the runner safe at home even if he was out on the second bunt. It looks to me the catcher is blocking the plate way before the ball gets to him.

He’s lucky to avoid injury on that one

  2. ~~Why didn’t Schumann run all the way on the third out? Why did he hold up?~~

    I’m blind nevermind

  3. Me earlier: I wonder how Neris doing back with the Astros. Me now:

  4. And only the first bunt was a really good one. If the Astros could make a play, the other two could’ve been handled fine.

  5. I wonder if the A’s core for years to come will be Brown, Langeliers, Butler, Rooker and Gelof?

  6. Had Diaz made the play on the 3rd one, he probably doubles off Cameron or Schuemann. Neris could have gotten Gelof on the safety squeeze too.

This is as much piss poor bunt defense as it is good bunting. No, I’m not still bitter about my high school team losing in the state semifinals this way. No way we won the championship as Sarasota had two first round draft pick pitchers that year.

  7. I was about to be impressed that three major leaguers know how to bunt, but then I saw the third guy. Nevertheless, I’m still impressed that two major league players know how to bunt.

  8. I can not stress how much I wish this was the way we defeated the shift. I get off on smallball
