But Braves starter Chris Sale seems to have the better statistics for the Cy Young award. Who do you think will win it?

  1. Sale is probably a shoe-in for the Cy Young. But Wheeler is absolutely the MVP for the Phillies this year – incredibly consistent and reliable. If we could get him better run support, he’d probably have 18 wins at this point.

  2. Sale, I wouldn’t mind seeing a blowup start. I see that your starting against the dodgers, so I’d love to see a 5 run 1st inning. Probably the last real chance for zack to win this damn thing. After that, seems like the Reds Mets and Royals. All pretty good teams that need to score some runs too. Looks like wheels is up against the brewers, mets and nats. Hopefully can get 7 shutout innings or so from each.

  3. I worry sometimes that Wheeler suffers from Fletcher Cox syndrome. Where he is a generational talent who is somehow overshadowed by his contemporaries. But he’s been good for so long and is now having a career year at age 34 but so few outside of this team seem to realize it.

  4. Wheeler is going to get fucked over for Cy Young yet again. He may end up one of the best pitchers to never win it. Still think it was ridiculous Snell won last year after getting bailed out by a strong Padres defense all year.

  5. I don’t have Stathead or anything else that can do it, but can someone here do a side-by-side comparison with Zack and Sale?

  6. Would pretty much guarantee Sale will get the Cy Young. As great as Wheeler is it’s another one of those years where someone else is just ever so slightly better. Think Wheeler doesn’t have the national respect as much as he should though. I’ve also thought his gold glove last year was kind of a “we are sorry you haven’t gotten the Cy Young yet even though you’ve been great, here’s another cool award that isn’t the biggest deal for your position”

  7. It sucks wheeler has been edged out multiple years, including likely this one. But I’ll take making the playoffs, winning the division, hopefully going on a deep playoff run, and definitely all 3, over a wheeler cy young every single time, and I bet he would too.

  8. Chris Sale will be the Cy Young winner and that pisses me off. The one fucking year the dude can stay healthy…

  9. Would be hilarious if Sale hits multiple speedbumps and Wheels goes on a career run to overtake him

  10. It’s crazy to think that, if Wheeler continues to stay relatively healthy and wins a Cy young, he could end up having the best career out of the Mets “5 Aces.”

  11. Next to Roy, he’s just might be the next best pitcher I’d have seen in a Phils uniform because I never saw Carlton.

  12. Chris Sale. Wheeler has been great but Sale has been just a little more great imo. It sucks but it is what it is.
