I mean, they dont HAVE to trade anyone at this point, simply sending Timmins down the the AHL solves their cap problem. The issue is going to come if they actually sign Pacioretty and I think Brad has contingency trade plans in place if Max looks decent enough to warrant a contract. I see Liligren as a cap sacrifice if push comes to shove if the Leafs want to sign Max since Timmins is a roughly comparable player and they can keep him in the AHL for the year and bring him up to cover for injuries.

With every passing day I feel more and more as if we're going to get rid of Lilejgren, and today I feel that the most. We sorely need to dig ourselves out of this cap crisis, and ASAP.
As a leafs fan I love hakanpaa he such a good physical guy our defensive core is gonna be pretty good
NOW we have our own CHARA
Bennett woud be my top choice to get but Vatrano is a solid 2nd choice.
If we could somehow manage to get both that actually is a solid cup contender!
Get rid of Robertson, Kampf and Liljegren and Timmins and bury Reaves and there is cap room for both!
