  1. This is absolutely why he was so in and out of the lineup. That SUCKS, my dad has been in and out for cancer and it has absolutely taken a toll on my life. There is no way to stay focused when something like this is occurring. Hope he can find his peace and get back to his life + family.

edit: Hey everyone, thanks for the well wishes. We’re in a good spot and things are in control. Was offering my point of view on a crummy situation. Its something we all have to go through at some point. A sort of “milestone” in your life when your parents start getting older like this. Be Safe and Go Dub!

  2. Ah jeez, Wiggs lost his pop? Condolences, at least he got to see he raised a champ. Rest well Mitch.

  3. Terrible news… That explains so many things
Wishing the best for the Wiggins family πŸ™πŸ™

  4. When he canceled his China trip, I figured that his Dad’s health could be the reason. All best wishes to him and the rest of his family to grieve and come to terms with this loss. I hope his teammates, coaches, etc., will be a source of sympathy and support along the way.

  5. Knew he was battling something for a while with how much time Wiggs missed

Rest in peace, hope he’s in a better place

  6. Never understood why so many people badmouthed Wiggins for missing time. #1 it’s not our business #2 now you know why, #3 family always comes first, even over work.

  7. FUCK MAN i just lost my (24) dad (76) to a fckn stroke that was a side effect of his chemo. His oncologist just gave him good news too. Fuck cancer man. I’m still a wreck and I’m not even working , can’t imagine what it’s like working with the public speculating

  8. Sad for Andrew, wish he didn’t have to go through this, wish none of us had to go through this. Lost my dad 2 years ago and know the pain, it hurts more than anything.

  9. Sad to hear about Wiggs losing his father. Family is always the top priority, and Wiggs made sure to be there for his. Mitch saw his son achieve greatness. Rest well.

  10. My god. I hope Wiggins gets the time he needs to grieve. I don’t care if he misses half the season. Basketball is nothing compared to what he’s going thru and so many people have given him shit for it

  11. Lost my dad to Alzheimer’s last year. Brutal. Condolences to Wiggins. To try to play your best when that happens is emotionally draining.

  12. Damn I really hope the warriors kept Wiggs out of the Olympics for legitimate reasons, I can imagine him wanting to have been there for his pops.

Either way, gotta give all the support we can to our champ

  13. It makes me happy that the organization supported Andrew while he was going through this. ❀️

  14. Rest In Power Mitchell Wiggins.

As someone who really like Cinderella story and hate the media trying to insert into Wiggins life, it’s awful.

Watching people speculate about how his kids are not his own but his best friend. It’s disgusting.

  15. I totally understand and was in Wigs shoes taking care of my dad the last three years of his life while putting my life and my own family on hold in NorCal. He passed early last year in Las Vegas and I came back home to get my life with the misses and daughter back together. Now I’m on family leave trying to get the house packed and mom together, she hasn’t recovered and tbh neither have I. I hope Andrew gets peace of mind in knowing that his dad knew he was there for him and that he finds his form when he gets back to NBA shape and speed.

  16. Condolences to the Wiggins family. Sucks how media was bashing Andrew and speculating all kinds of wild theories. We’re all human and Andrew didn’t deserve to get that hate while his father’s health was declining. RIP Mitchell Wiggins

  17. This is how you do it and note to myself. Take the time off of work to cherish loved ones while they are still alive.
