All 22 QB Breakdown: Bo Nix”

  1. Chase Daniels was backup to Drew Brees for a few years so he knows Sean Payton and his offense well. He broke down a lot of Bo Nix’s play. For the most part, I really liked how Bo made the right reads, just needed to fix his timing and execution (nerves probably) except that last play with Marvin, that was a tough watch. I hope Bo can hit more of these throws at home and after getting his first game jitters out of the way

  2. Yeah, he stated multiple times that he thought it was the right call at the time, but that the execution was lacking at one of three phases: QB, blocking, and routes. Essentially, nothing ever worked right in all three phases. I think there’s positive things to take away away from this.

  3. A couple things to note are that the run game was not good. No way do you want your rookie QB in their first game throwing 42 passes because your RBs are getting less than 3 yards a carry. Nix felt the pressure pretty well and moved correctly. He definitely missed some open throws, chucked the ball into bad coverages a few times, and was not having a good time with the zone defense. Still, it’s a rough place to play and he did reasonably well for a first ever game as a rookie.
