  1. Seider has played all 82 games of all three seasons so far since he arrived in the NHL. He would only have to keep that up for one more season plus about 20 games into the following one, and he would break the all-time NHL record for longest iron man streak from the beginning of a career.

I know that it is not the end of the world if this doesn't happen, but it would really be jarring to see his streak end because of a contract dispute!

  2. At this point Yzerman needs Seider more than Seider does,,,With Raymond it may be a little different.but being an older man and a Wing fan I remember well hoe the old Wings back in the 70's lost a STAR by playing hard ball and what was felt in bad faith,,M Dionne walked away basically going to L.A. for a used up Terry Harper and tough guy Dan Maloney and a bag of pucks,,,the Wings never recovered from that…years and years of loosing came along with other bad trades like G Unger to the Blues and A Oates to the blues for Federko,,,If Yzerman keeps signing poor contracts like the Woll and Peitry as well as Copp to name a few he will not last much longer,,mabey longer because of his name in the motor city..I believe in spending $$ on quality over quantity…Wake up Steveie !!

  3. Stevie Why is building himself a reputation for not wanting to pay his draft picks. As they come up they will probably start requesting bridge deals so they can leave for big money elsewhere. Players like Danielson, Kasper, and ASP will already know their stays here will not be permanent because of Mr. Stevie Why. Play in Detroit for 5 years then seek the big money elsewhere.
