  1. I hated the pitchers and Pat in this game. Ashby started the downfall. And Pat decided to keep the other pitcher in for the 11th which was stupid. From now on i just think the Brewers will lose whenever they go to extra ending. And Fredrick bunting was stupid got 1 out right away.

  4. Sounds like work load management on Devin…. Okay you want him healthy for the playoffs. But also you are playing for the bye.

    At this stage you go for the win this late in the season. How you manage in the middle of the season and how you manage late in the season/playoffs is very different.

    Murphy has done a phenomenal job so far. If he learns from this mistake, then great. But I hope they don’t miss the bye by one game. That would be terrible

  6. Is the goal to win the world series or is the goal to get the #2 seed? Arizona didn't win the #2 seed last year and still won 3 games in the world series, though not actually winning the world series. Exceeding pitch counts on pitchers is what Murphy is trying to avoid . Pat Murphy explains his decision, that did involve some risk. It didn't work out this time. "It was a concensus decision. Devin's thrown alot lately. We got to think we're still in this 13 game stretch. If we brought Devin in for one hitter, a specific hitter, we could've done it with 2 outs. He was available but not for any extended period. So if you put him in the game with no outs he could potentially throw a high number of pitches. That would be 4 out of 6 and then he wouldn't of been available for a while. We already used Megill, and we wanted to get through it. They had a lot of left handed hitters coming up and if we could get through it early, we could go to Devin for the 3rd out. Look guys we can't just tear this bullpen up and have nobody to pitch for the next few days. You can make decisions and never have them back fire or you can make decisions and have them backfire. Keonig was pitching to lefties, I thought he could get out. Didn't work out."
