  1. i have some breaking news. The Jays have little to no chance to sign Soto. Of course they have expressed interest. They always claim to be interested in top FA and rarely, if ever sign them. Atkins and Shapiro have demonstrated time and time again that they do not have the skill, savvy, or knowhow to be able to sign a player of Soto's calibre. This is not news.

  2. Talking about Juan Soto now doesn't mean anything. The sooner the Blue Jays resign Vlad, the sooner he can start recruiting Juan Soto. And the Blue Jays have to deal with Scott Boras.

  3. I can't wait for them to chase a unicorn again this off season, strike out again and sign a bunch of leftovers in hopes of finishing 500 again in 2025 again. Spare us this false hope, Soto's not coming to Toronto. And if this is the hill that the'yre willing to die on, if it happens like it looks like it might none of them should be left to start the season.

70 million would go alot further in putting together a bullpen that doesnt suck and someone to play 3rd base/ outfield

  4. I'd like to see them start some of the young guys that have been producing and concentrate on fixing the bullpen. If they make the same mistake chasing Soto that they did with the Ohtani saga then they definitely will need to fire upper management. I'd rather they build a team than buy one.

  5. Atkins was not just delusional about signing Ohtani and having no backup plan but he also pissed off both his young team cornerstones by failing to extend their contracts over the off season. Now Vladdy will be more expensive and Bichette is unhappy. I dint care if Bassett is questioning the Atkins hate. Hes a joke of a GM and needs to go. Trading for prospects at the deadline, none of which were in the top 100 MLB prospects list by the way, doesnt saves his job IMO because its his fault the farm system is one of the worst in MLB. FIRE ATKINS

  6. The problem with a “backup plan” is what is Teoscar, ONeill, Santander, Profar start coming off the board before him? I’m more tempted to not even try for Soto and go hard at whichever of the prior guys you want the most and make that happen.

  7. Welcome to "Blue Jays Free Agency and Trade Participation" season. We'll be in on all the top players! We'll get none of them, but we'll be in on all of them! Celebrate good times, come on!

  8. bregman's declining fast. sign vlad and bo and other big bat's. bregman will turn into springer so fast in will make your head spin, sick of getting good teams leftover's. bo isn't a leftover he's 26 and has a lot of great year's ahead of him

  9. First off, Atkins has to be fired, he has no weight on making a significant signing with those type player caliber and right now Jay's are too dysfunctional with front office, plus Soto has made it clear he wants to play with Ohtani, Jay's have no shot at Soto………

  10. Given the close relationship to Mark S., Ken was told this as a way of getting the fans excited,. Sure we can say that we are going to be aggressive, doesn't make it true. I would only accept Soto for 4 yrs thus allowing him to make another big money contract. Soto is not a good outfielder, we can compare that to Teo, so why not get Teo on a one/two year contract and someone else. Judge and Soto is not enough to win the World Series, Trout and Ohtani was not enough to win a World Series. The only way to win in modern times is having a well balanced roster.
