  1. This is worded poorly

[Finley] There are 9 winless teams in the NFL — Bears play 4 in the next 4 weeks, and played one Week 1

  2. We absolutely need to see some improvement from Caleb in these next 4 weeks or someone needs to be fired

  3. Caleb didn’t exactly get a tune up game. Hopefully he can work out some of the kinks against weaker opponents.

  4. I think this week things start to look better, the Colts defense sucks major ass and the Bears should be able to run on them which *should* really help the passing game.

Things still might look like shit and if they do I’ll begin to freak out but things *should* improve

  5. Everyone is freaking out and it’s understandable since this offense feels all too familiar and we’re used to seeing it not get better but these next 4 weeks will be telling about where this team is. If we can see modest improvement and have an average offense while being 4-2 going into the bye week we’ll be in a great spot.

  6. Can’t believe the colts are the betting favorites after that embarrassment in GB.  Am I missing something?  Yeah, our offense looks terrible.  But at least our D looks legit.  Colts were embarrassed on both sides of the ball.  I couldn’t believe the play-by-play I was seeing in that game.  It was like a 1930s NFL team against a peewee team.

  7. What’s promising is the Bears started 0-4 last year and turned the corner towards the end of the year. If they can net out to 4-2 after this stretch, could be a huge morale boost to the team as they approach the harder part of the schedule. The defense will keep the team in any game, so if the offense can use these weeks to grow a Wild card spot is still in reach.

  8. I know defense is playing at an elite level right now but honestly, if offense still can’t get it together by the bye. I think Eberflus needs to be gone come January. He assembled the staff for 3 years now and we’ve still not seen any progress on the offensive side of the ball. Call me crazy but I think Williams development is more important than the defense at this point.

  9. That’s great but we’re talking about 2 games. And frankly, our offense is on par with those teams.

  10. Looks like I’m taking the under on just about everything in a Bears game until further notice. Possibly over on the amount of time our opponents spend in our offensive backfield, but I don’t think that’s a prop. Damn

  11. Better rack up the wins now, the Division games could easily be 0-6 (Detroit, Minn, GB all look good)

  12. We’ll go 7-10, fire Eberflus and then hire whatever wet noodle clown the McCaskets like. #1 priority is no swearing and “looks like a coach”

  13. Meh, winless means nothing at all going into week 3. I do agree that on paper we should be able to win in an easier manner, but no team is a guaranteed W on your schedule even if they are winless. I think we all felt that way heading into that week 4 matchup last year with Denver and we still lost, despite the fact their defense had just gotten a 70-bomb hung on them.

The good news is I think we can all safely project the defense to be very stout in those games. Meaning we should be in a good spot to hang around even if the offense is sputtering at times. If we can just find some semblance of a run game, get marginally better up front, and get more accuracy on plays down the field- then there’s no reason we shouldn’t be at 4-3 or 3-3 at the bye week.

However, the key word in that statement is *if*. It’s hard for me to expect us to be at/above .500 through 6 games with how the offense looks now. Until proven otherwise (and to save myself from inevitable disappointment) I predict 2-4 heading into the bye week. I’d love to be wrong on that, but the burden is on the offense to make that happen and prove they aren’t actually this bad.

  14. The bears are playing a 4th place schedule. They are going to play a lot of other 4th place teams. 4th place teams are rarely very good. Wake me up when the bears run over 4th place teams, because they don’t look significantly better than those teams.
