The Orioles (84-66) begin their final homestand of the season tonight, taking on the last team they have left to play, the San Francisco Giants (72-78) Baltimore is likely going out this week whether they will settle for a wildcard spot, or if they will challenge the Yankees for the division when the two sides clash in the Bronx next week. If the Orioles continue to play the way they have been, its a wildcard spot. They will HAVE to take a minimum of two here against a Giants side coming in on a four-game losing streak, and who are now completely out of the postseason picture. Quite the pitching matchup here, two-time Cy Young award winner, Blake Snell, will be on the mound, facing off against living legend, Albert Suarez. Jacon Webb and Heston Kjerstad both rejoined the team in the final game on Sunday in Detroit – hopefully this week will see the return of another player or two from injury, while those who have been slumping at the plate can find some fire. The time is NOW. It is SEPTEMBER, folks! The playoff push is ON. So saddle up, grab some snacks, a drink or six, and enioy the ballgame. Thank yooooouuuuuu.
