Yeah, Frankie Montas should be part of the post season formula as a starter. Looks powerful every time out. Results are fair to good to occasionally excellent. 3 runs in 5+ innings qualifies. Will he be the 3rd starter? I'm not sure.
We must sign Willy as well, despite a rough stretch v Philly. Hopefully Anastasio will open up the payroll in the future. The state did agree to stadium upgrades,BTW. I prefer the Cubs win tomorrow afternoon and the Brewers beat the Phillies Wednesday night !
I am still 100% supporting Pat Murphy in his decision NOT to use Devon Williams in that situation. The first reason is the one NOT stated by Pat Murphy in his post game interview. Devin Williams told his coaching staff that he was NOT 100% but available to pitch. That's huge! A manager has a pitcher in Koenig , solid all year with a 2.56 ERA, has pitched multiple innings in the past, looked good in the 8th inning, looked good on first few pitches in the 9th, and has lefties coming up. Now the manager hears Devon Williams is NOT 100% but still available. So, Murphy looks at the whole picture, takes the current pitch count into consideration, and what breaking that ceiling could do. At worst you could overuse Devon Williams and he'd be injured for the year. He'd be unavailable in the near future games having exceeded his pitch count in recent games. Pat Murphy said it was a decision that did backfire. But, are people really saying that want a manager that just doesn't make gut wrenching, gamer type decisions? Pat Murphy is the brains behind this team and he does take risks.

Isaac Collins… He needs to be tested just in case he succeeds. If successful, he'd offer Murphy a backup that is very versatile with lots of speed. How long does this test trial go for? Unsure.
Garrett Mitchell… Hopefully he stays on track. His season numbers are currently a .260 batting average and an .819 OPS. These are top of the lineup numbers. It's going to be tough to sit this guy at this point.
Very disappointed Am Fam Field is not selling out for these games. Not even close to a sell out.
Of course when the Dodgers lose and Cubs the Brewers have a really bad night they had a chance and blew it.
As much as I think Adames will get big bucks and deserve it, but he has one huge weakness. He absolutely stinks in Sac Fly situations. I kid that he's 1 for 99, I am sure someone can check the actual figures. I will hazard a guess that it's less than 10% success rate. Today he struck out on 3 pitches, huge swig and miss.
Hope we don't start an offensive slump. Saturday we ended a 10 game stretch where we hit just 183. That wasn't even our worst streak of the year. August 8th to 18th we hit 175 for a 10 game stretch.
I highly disagree, We do not need to sign Montas to a long term deal. Is he doing well? Yes. But he is not worth a long term deal. Great mid season pick up though.

Murphy’s managing is extremely suspect to me, aside from the Devin Williams debacle on Sunday for one, there was no chance for the Brewers against Zac Wheeler. Not one. Adames is a good player, but swinging for the fences on every AB. He blew that run to go up 1 yesterday. He needs to learn to hit for contact and up that average…200 Mil??? I don’t think so…
Finally for the love of God, WHY DOES MURPHY NOT PLAY ERIC HAASE??? He is a good player, and has earned the right for more playing time. He has tunnel vision with that lineup and needs to think outside the box. SANCHEZ IS DOING NOTHING! Smarten up Murphy, the playoffs are around the corner if you want to make some noise!

I think Peralta will be pitching with a mindset of trying to prove he is number one on the pitcher's pecking order today. If he doesn't improve on his latest outings, he might find himself slipping down the playoff rotation order a notch or two…Between Peralta and Williams, I can't decide which is more nerve wracking to watch, always hanging by a thread to get thru an inning, way too many 3 ball counts.
