  1. masai shouldnt have any concern. there is no basketball executive or president that has as much pull overseas like masai. hes a pioneer in africa. hes one of the best scouts and has an eye for finding those diamonds in the rough. rodgers would be an idiot to let masai go.

  2. I'm probably in the minority here but I'm looking forward to new leadership. Sincerely hope it's not Bobby though. Masai has been complacent and arguably negligent for several years now making decisions based on emotion.

  3. Successful businesses get there by hiring the best people. Masai is one of the best and that is why he is well paid. The pudits who are predicting that Masai is going to get fired are not any close to being the best at their job

  4. AS Long as Larry Tannenbaum is there he will stand up for Masaii. Best thing that can be done to build a better group of execs is for Ted Rogers to accompany Massii to Africa and see the outreach work he accomplishes. I think he would be most impressed by what he does by what he offers to the Continent of Africa which will be the next huge foundation of the next generation of future NBA players.
If Ted Rogers does not then I agree Masaii 's days will be numbered which is rediculous just like when they hired Mark Shapiro over Alex Anthopoulos for the Blue Jays. Maybe then Alex should be hired to oversee both the Raptors and the Jays now that would be thinking outside of the box.

  5. Another point is I think the NBA is looking to future expansion and Montreal may be on the short list. If so then look to an investment group with Masaii, Larry Tannenbaum and a majority group from Quebec being part of the ownership group.
P.S. If they retain Shapiro for the Jays and not Masaii for the Raptors then someone is a bit looney in the ownership group's headspace.

  6. Tannenbaum didn't simply lose power, he sold off the majority of his shares. Also Bobby Webster isn't Edward Rogers lol In terms of the Jays, the Rogers family are always willing to spend to win. Shatkins is the issue.

  7. The Harold Ballard era of the Raptors begins. Wait till ol' Ed realizes he can bring up the entire farm team and pocket the balance of the payroll minimum.

And. Your! Cell! Bill! Is! Still! Going! Up!

  8. Does this indicate an economic downturn or uncertain times? Is this selling high? Conflict seems to be escalating. Will the nba suffer if the US deploys a national conscription of young men?

  9. I'LL BE EXCITED WITH MASAI LEAVING and his cronies, but I'm not keen on ROGERS TAKING A BIGGER STAKE. ROGERS IS PROFIT MOTIVATED, not necessarily interesteed in building a dynasty, or a team that is going to win. They may just say, hey, we fill the seats, we don't need to do more. Bell has 1/2 th tv rights so ROGERS doesn't really care much about that revenue stream.
