  1. Some of these have got to be in the running for the “most intimate NHL media day photos ever taken”

  2. Matty Beniers looks like he’s attempting a “how do you do, fellow kids” even though he’s literally a fellow kid dude has been 40 years old since he was 12

  3. I have a biologist friend in BC who worked the salmon death beds. I bet she can smell this photo.

  4. I have to hand it to them, the Kraken have really helped remind people that Seattle is a seafaring nation. I’ve never been there but before the kraken I’ve always associated Seattle with hipsters and homelessness. Having a hockey team there has unironically improved the reputation for Seattle in at least one person’s eyes lol

  5. Seattle has done a fantastic job building up their team. Even in choosing their name, they’re not afraid to lean into the fun and absurd.

Also, shoutout to their broadcasters. They tailor their broadcast to fans who are likely to be new to the sport and break down the game as it happens. Bravo, Kraken.

  6. It’s refreshing to see hockey players show some personality and having fun with stuff like this.
