  1. Gally as much as i hate his salary at the moment fully earned it by being payed under par for the majority of his career, it's sucks in the now but in a way it will help when he comes off the books to sign or resign newer players. I fully hope Gally retires as a habs. I'd trade Anderson instead in a heartbeat

  2. This trade won't happen, but when the Gallagher contract ends, if he doesn't cooperate with Montreal with it's new and doesn't want a lesser paycheck for the sake of our rebuild, well, loyal or not he gotta go.

  3. What I think? Your move Toronto Medias to uptage Montreal's in stupidity. Usually they engage in a war of attrition to determine which is more outrageous to say it politely

  4. We would have to lose Owen Beck to dump Gallagher? Still three years left but we probably need to just wait this contract out rather than give up assets. Montreal wont be great in three years.
Giving up a first to get rid of him is ridiculous for a rebuilding team.
It's good to get rid of these contracts if they can but not at any cost.
It is a pretty bad contract. I wouldn't take him on or Anderson or dvorak or armia. .

  5. Funny no matter how you work it it still does not sound like a good deal for CBJ. How would he help Columbus? The point is to make your team better. And if you got him you will have to play him. He is a borderline NHLer at this stage of his career. I suppose you can get another decent pick. But are the Jackets looking to take a step backwards? Are they again in rebuild mode.? I will say it like Patsy from the Holy Grail. It's only a Rumor.

  6. Maybe if it were a few years down the line and Montreal's rebuild is a huge success and they're looking to make a run as a contender a deal like this could be worth it for that free cap space, but as of right now, absolutely no way in hell.

  7. Well this is exactly why Laraque isn’t in a management position, this is terrible. Like you said, the Habs don’t need the cap, we’re not in a position to contend. So why does he think that giving up our heart and soul, a young promising player and a potentially decent pick? Just to get $6.5mill off the books when the team doesn’t need it. Brutal.

  8. Nah, they can't spend the money this year. He was somewhat useful on the ice last year, great off ice. There's only 2 more years left and could be bought out next year and still save a bunch of money. Don't move on him until the money is needed. Cap situation is fine.

  9. Gally had no problem running PK out of town so I am totally good with shipping him out. Idk why anyone would want a player who literally falls down 3 times a shift though.

  10. As soon as our host mentioned Laraque I stopped listening. When will we learn that Laraque is proof that having played in the NHL is not enough to understand the game. Laraque is a clown 🤡 who seeks narcissistic attention. Everything he says is to attract attention, let's stop listening to him!!!

  11. Mad respect for George Laraque and what he brought to the ice when he was in a league that had room for enforcers. But has he lost his small glass playing spheres?

    1. Habs do not need to move Gallagher at this point.

    2. What, in the actual puck, is that proposal?? The league office would reject that trade every damn day!

    3. Kent Hughes is creating a reputation for doing right by the players…See Jeff Petry. He may be becoming one of the reasons players may want to go to the Habs. Sending Gallagher, who may only have a few years left, to a bottom team like that would seem out of character based on the short history of his GM career.

    4. Looks like the Leafs have their next GM candidate in big George when BT gets sacrificed so Shanahan can keep is position….again! 😏

  12. It is funny Laraque is suggesting the habs trade Gallagher when he was a player who was asked to stay home cause he was a waste of a roster spot. Gallagher will not be moved as they have no need to shed cap space. What a dumb trade proposal.
