His longevity was amazing…and as a Reds fan, I’m grateful he spent his entire career in Cincinnati. It’s less and less common…
He’s going. The voters are brutal at times but he’s going.
And only 10 people are more over rated than votto.
Check his stats. He’s basically Canadian Dale Murphy. But a worse human.
I wholeheartedly agree. A great player (often on bad teams) who you had to game plan for. In his prime, he was one of the hardest outs in MLB.
Those TikTok videos he made when he was still unsigned at the beginning of the season were equal parts hilarious and depressing. Can’t help feel bad for the guy. You can tell he truly loves the game.
I’d be blown away if he doesn’t make it
I was eliminated from playoff contention in my fantasy baseball pool a couple weeks ago, so I added Joey Votto to my team, as a tip of the cap.
He was a really solid player for many years.
He is not HOF caliber. He isn’t close to 3000 hits or 500 homers. He was very, very good. The best player the Reds have had in a very long time. But that doesn’t make him a HOFer. Forget all the analytics B.S. Look at the real numbers. He doesn’t come close.
hall of very good.
I agree that he deserves it. I’m also partial to players who are franchise icons and didn’t move around as much.
He could get HOF but it won’t happen for the 1st four years he’s eligible.
One of em is Lance Berkman
As a life long Reds fan I am completely biased, but I sure hope so.
Not only for his play on the field but for his character.
of course he’s in. does someone think he’s not??
Only ? 43
Should be a first ballot guy. What a player!
It is a great tragedy that Joey Votto did not finish his career with a .300 average.
Still a HOF.
1st Ballot too
6 years of top 10 mvp voting
3 years of top 5
1 mvp
80 stolen bases a nice cherry on the cake
As a Cubs fan, he deserves the HoF.
Is anyone saying that he doesnt deserve it??
Yeah he’s a hall of famer what moron wouldn’t say he is?
Seven OBP titles is mind blowing
playing as long as he did too…thats gotta count for something dude is def a Hall of Famer
He won’t be first ballot but he will eventually get in
Good guy , if he gets in you gotta let Dale Murphy in
No I don’t think so
I’m a Cubs fan and I WAS ALWAYS a Votto fan! Dude is the definition of clutch..and one of the all time best trash talkers.. I love Canadian born MLBers
Are they judged on how fucking cool they are? If so, he’s a first ballot
If he doesn’t get in, they have to reconsider the entire way they do the HOF.
Only?
He deserves to get in .
Not asking in an asshole way. But is it even a debate if he’s a hall of famer? Like are there people that think he’s not? And if so what’s the reasoning?

If he’s in, Dick Allen should get in, too.
