[Iain MacIntyre] Fun moment at camp. Talking to Danton Heinen about growing up a Canucks fan. He mentioned Game 7 vs CHI in 2011, Burrows scoring in OT. Me: “Slay the dragon.” Him, smiling: “Yeah.” Me: “The guy who made that call is right there.” Then Heinen turned and met John Shorthouse.

TIL Heinen is from Langley
Great story. Glad he got to meet Shorty.
Im actually so stoked we got this guy. When we were worried about whether or not Joshua would extend here, Heinen seemed like the best fit to replace him. Now we got both these mfs
That’s so cool! Must be awesome for him!
Pretty good vibes heading into this season.
Am I just dumb or is he mistaken about Shorty making that call. Swore it was Jim Hughson
He will slay this generation’s dragon by scoring an OT series clincher against the Oilers in the 2025 playoffs.
That’s the local boy dream right there
Honestly not trying to troll but do you think he really gives a f*** who made the call?
Always like him
That means he played on a team of people I assume he grew up hating with Marchand, Chara, Bergeron etc? Wonder how he felt about that – probably still stoked to be playing in the NHL but interesting nonetheless
