  1. I’m not typically one who likes to call for people to be fired, but Fatse needs to be gone yesterday

  2. Team sucks ownership sucks! They had a chance to add at trade deadline and went cheap. They’re more concerned with saving money and the farm system.

  3. All the focus has been on the pitching, but the offense has been just as bad if not worse, especially over the last month or so. 3rd most strikeouts in all of baseball. The pitching probably needs more attention this offseason, but the offense 100% needs to be addressed, whether it be by firing our hitting coach or adding bats through trades/free agency.

  4. My fault guys. I fell asleep after hearing DOB say they struck out for the 16th time (season high) and I figured they must have gotten it out of their system.

    Turns out they’re overachievers.

  5. Shocking a hitting coach and 2 assistant hitting coaches haven’t been able to solve the issues as of late

  6. I know everyone blames it on the hitting coach but like… they hit pretty well in the first half or 2/3 of the season with the same guy. They also pitched pretty well for the same length.

You ever stop to think that other teams realized that the Sox had a high BABIP and game-planned to throw them pitches that they would swing at?

I get that this is a simplified and stupid theory, because you’ve got opposite ends of the hitting spectrum in the same lineup. Pitcher could throw a pitch into the dugout and Rafaela would be like “I could hit that” and take a swing. Meanwhile Casas is eyeballing the zone and taking hittable pitches because he thinks they’re gonna be a ball, because he has his zone, but it’s not always the ump’s zone.

Then you got Raffy and Wilyer just swinging yahoo-jahoo at anything even remotely in the zone. Story, who I will never understand why anyone throws him a pitch that isn’t a slider away.

And then the host of other dudes on the team who you can throw pretty much any competitive pitch to and get away with it.

Sorry, this is a long-ass comment, but what I’m saying is: I’m not sure how much a new hitting coach is gonna help.

Edit: I guess they never struck out 20 times in a game before either, though, so I guess a new hitting coach hopefully couldn’t hurt, either.

  7. I’ve been watching the Red Sox since 1985. This was one of the most frustrating games I’ve ever sat through. I would have lost my mind if I were in Fenway for it. Fire everyone who’s supposed to help them hit better. Coaches, staff… interns. Everyone.

  8. I was at Fenway last night. That was the most miserable game of baseball I’ve ever had to watch. Didn’t help I had $100 on Sox money line too…
