  1. oooof….. imagine trading Ullmark and NOT having Swayman under contract…. and then having Swayman hold out on you…… yikes….. although, to be fair, only an idiot would hand Swayman 10M+ a year at this point…..

  2. What I think is that Swayman dislikes how they signed Zadorov and Lindholm to good deals but they wont sign their best player to a huge one. Yes there is no cap space but I think that this will go through.

  3. I take it as Lewis Gross trying to upend the Bruins position (Don Sweeney) of setting a value and sticking to it as "not negotiating" and turning off the phone. Trade them to Utah for a pick and a prospect.

  4. Boston is a 100yr franchise, and ongoing. Swayman has max 8-10 years left in his career. Finite timeline to make generational money. The organization would trade him to Columbus for a bag of pucks, uprooting his entire life if they thought it would help the club. Why exactly should a millionaire player take less from a billionaire club/owner?

  5. WHAT NOT TO EVER DO IF YOU ARE A GM OF A HOCKEY TEAM.
    1. Trade a Vezina Caliber Goalie to a rival in your division.
    2. Don't trade that goalie before you have signed and secured the goalie you plan to keep.
    3. Sign your goalie before you trade your other goalie.
    4. Do not play hard ball with your no.1 goalie after you have traded your other no.1 goalie.
    Did I miss anything?

  6. If Swayman can get $8-10M a year long term deal from a team, then Don is waiting for the offer sheet. A minimum 1,2,3rd picks with potential to be multiple 1st rounders. No team will offer that contract and give up compensation for a goalie hence why no offer sheets have been sent to swayman. Look at all the recent goalie contracts, not good results for teams. Swayman should take a bridge deal and wait till UFA status when he has ultimate leverage. For now he’s wasting time when no team will bother signing him to 8M+ long term contract when he’s a RFA tied to significant compensation.

  7. First of all, thanks for Ullmark secondly why would you trade away any Vezina winning goaltender without having his replacement signed? To me this just doesn’t make sense.

  8. Correction: Swayman took the Bruins to arbitration, also 2 years = UFA after. Also, had they signed him before moving Ullmark the Bruins would have received crums on a trade. Dont forget who Swaymans agent is……..
