The Chicago White Sox are one loss away from tying the MLB record

The White Sox’ 6-2 loss to the Padres on Saturday was their 119th of the season. With 7 games left to play, they are just one loss away from tying the 1962 Mets’ modern-era record of 120 losses in a season. Mark Carman and Ozzie Guillen break down all the big plays on White Sox Postgame Live.

  1. The MLB record is 134 losses set by the 1899 Cleveland Spiders. There's only 7 more games left, so the worst they can do is 36-126. At least they won't break the all-time record for most losses.

  2. Whenever the final record is after Sept 29th, I won’t be surprised if the L record is threaten again by another team not named the White Sox or Mets respectively.

  3. Seven game win streak, incoming.

Wouldn’t surprise me. SD is on the hot seat trying to move up and not lose to a 119-loss team with a week-plus to go.

The Angels have three more (one sure loss in there) and Detroit to finish (Sox can deffo spoil their surprising finish)

Doubtful, but it ain’t over until the fat lady writes another 1899 Spiders blurb.

Sick of hearing about that gutted “team,” that was a travesty while the Sox only excuse is “ignorant owner.” It’s not like there are lots of great teams this year, overwhelming poor teams.

Yet the Sox are 8-41 vs. their Central opponents; Cleveland’s the lone 90-win team right now, and Chicago went 5-8 against them.

  4. And Grifol is still out there telling people that Jerry loves baseball and cares about winning. What a loser. That guy should never be anywhere near a major league team again and Jerry…. You need to stop LaRussa from interfering and undermining your coaches. That old has been needs to get out of the clubhouse.

  5. Chicago will start Crochet in all seven remaining games, and he’ll be their sole bullpen option.

Imagine the Sox w/o that guy and Fedde (until he was dealt) holy cow 30 wins total would’ve been a reach.
