Wheeler start wasted, Phillies fall short in another potential division clinch

  1. I am finding it really hard to believe that we are here in the last full week of the regular season and they still have not put this division to bed yet. Ugh.

I can’t quite believe that I am about to say this, but…Go Braves?

  2. I thought this headline was saying that Wheeler made the start while he was wasted and I was about to comment how impressive he was

  3. In a way it’s good. This way they can clinch tomorrow and not have to worry about traveling the same night they party in the clubhouse

  4. I understand the frustration. I’m frustrated. But the people in this sub getting snippy with those venting their frustrations is weird. It’s as if we are supposed to say “aww shucks we’ll get em tomorrow, right guys!”

  5. I love this team so much, but have to be realistic that this is likely not a WS caliber year. If it happens I’ll be beyond ecstatic, but we should not expect it

  6. This is what’s gonna happen:
They’re gonna 5-1 or 4-2 against CHC and WSH (they both suck)
Fans gonna get excited and all in again
Then gonna get shut down in NLDS and we will all act surprised

  7. It sucks that our boy Wheeler has the most WAR of any pitcher in the MLB over the last 5 years but he doesn’t have a CYA and Sale is going to steal it from him this year.

  8. Kinda regret how I’ve been wanting them to get #2 seed instead, to avoid SD/ARI—
because that could mean getting ARI now anyway (currently #6 thanks to NYM)
or worst-case losing in LDS to Mets…

Optimal outcome right now seems like: #2 seed but ATL has to get #6 somehow.

  9. Magic number is 1. One win and they clinch the NL East. Magic number for the 2 seed (bye) is 3.

  10. Not feeling so great going into October like this. The hot team going in is the dangerous team and this is the exact opposite. Get ya shit straight Gentleman! 😠
