To kick off the preseason we are starting with an AMA from none other than u/passittobulis himself, Daniel Wagner!
If you don’t know Daniel, he is an award winning journalist who has covered the Canucks since 2010. Currently he is the Canucks Editor for Pass it to Bulis at Vancouver Is Awesome.
Daniel Wagner also has a new Canucks book out titled: On the Clock: Vancouver Canucks: Behind the Scenes with the Vancouver Canucks at the NHL Draft

What’s your typical IWTG routine? Like do you start writing it as soon as you get home, how long does it normally take etc
(I’ve loved reading these since I was in hs)
Heyo Daniel, I’ve been reading your stuff since the early days with Harrison. Always enjoyed your ability to write meaningful content about the team with a fun tone. Given that you started PitB at one of the “zeniths” of Canucks success, how have you found the media environment surrounding the organization going from high to low to (hopefully) high again? I always assumed that a team would be more fun to write about if they are winning, but have you found your day to day changing along with the team’s trajectory?
Wags – Who has the better season next year? Daniel Sprong or Nils Hoglander?
How do you rank our forward depth compared to the rest of the league?
Jake DeBrusk, O/U 32.5 Goals?
Hi Daniel, thank you for doing this! Firstly, I really enjoyed reading your book on the draft history of the Canucks.
My question to you would be:
Which of the following draft day “what if” you noted in your book do you think have the biggest impact on the Canucks?
– Having Igor Larionov in the 1994 line up for the Canucks cup run?
or
– 2008 draft which rumour that the Blackhawks were going to add Dustin Byfuglien to swap picks with the Canucks. Having Dustin Byfuglien playing on Canucks side of the Canucks vs Blackhawks rivalry in both the 2009 and 2010 playoffs.
What do you expect to be the final combination for the top 2 lines coming out of camp?
