Jesper and Adam Boqvist Team Up in Florida Panthers Preseason Win over Nashville

Florida Panthers defenseman Adam Boqvist and forward Jesper Boqvist speak after their team swept the Nashville Predators 3-2 and 6-2 in the first exhibition games of the preseason at Amerant Bank Arena on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2024.

In Game 2, the Boqvist Brothers teamed up for two goals and an assist in Florida’s 6-2 win.

Adam Boqvist signed on with the Panthers after being bought out by Columbus; Jesper Boqvist came to Florida after not being given a qualifying offer by the Bruins.

The Panthers start their defense of the Stanley Cup championship on Tuesday, Oct. 8, against the Boston Bruins.

On June 24, the Panthers beat the Edmonton Oilers 2-1 in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final.

Florida took a 1-0 lead in the first on a goal from Carter Verhaeghe off a sharp pass from Evan Rodrigues.

Tied at 1 in the second, Dmitry Kulikov swept away the puck from an empty net — and Sam Reinhart scored on the ensuing rush.

The rest was up to the Florida defense which clamped down on the Edmonton offensive — with the help of some stellar goaltending from Sergei Bobrovsky.
