Too soon?

Wasn’t expecting this at all, one spot ahead of Detroit, considering how bad our O-line has been playing, and the teams we’ve faced thus far.
NFL.com still had us in 19 last week by comparison.

  1. I don’t think this team deserves the disrespect NFL.com is giving us…. but no way we are the 4th best team in the NFL right now. We had 3 wins against easier teams, none of them looked all that great even. I know you could argue that our Miami win was decisive, but let’s be real here, we were playing a 3rd string QB, until the 4th we only managed 1 3rd down conversion, and lost the turn over battle 2-0. Play like that against even the most average NFL teams and we are going to get toasted.

I love this team, but they are not far enough along to earn this kind of a ranking. Maybe with a healthy oline, LB room, and K9 back… maybe.

  2. If this is true, then we’re one Anthony Bradford replacement away from the #1 slot. That is a delusion train that I will happily get on board with.

  3. Seattle fans are so funny. Some of you guys complain when we don’t get the rankings/respect we deserve & when we get the rankings you say .”whoa now with a side of caution!” 😂

  4. We’ve been playing very good and the defense looks elite so far. We might not be the fourth best team in the NFL, but basing the rankings on the first three games of the season I think it’s a fair assessment.

  5. Well, I like this better than the pundits saying we are 31st or whatever garbage they were saying.

Anyway, we already all knew these types of power rankings rankings are trash.

  6. I think Monday night will be the real test for us. If we can get a win against the lions and our pass rush looks good against one of the better lines in the league id be pretty pumped.

Hell I could see JS trade some extra draft capital for a player. He has a history of trading when we look good at the deadline.

  7. All I know is whenever the national media takes notice of Seattle teams, bad juju generally happens. Like them praising the team puts a jinx into the universe.

  8. This team is pretty darn good right now, but not the 4th best team in the NFL good. We had a good win against a bad broncos team, an OT win against a pats team that has no identity, and a dominating win against a fins team that doesn’t have a QB.

This stretch of games from this week to the Rams game will be a lot of tests for this team. I think after the 9ers game, we’ll know what kind of team we have.

  9. Technically we are, but we haven’t faced contenders yet and our interior line is a hazard. We’re top 10-12 because of our defense.

  10. We beat 3 teams with bad QBs. Nothing g to get excited about. Can’t agree with this unless we beat Goff and the Lions in Detroit.

  11. Yes. The soonest of too soons. Let’s see how we play vs. our our own conference (Detroit)-not just the 🗑️ of the AFC-, our own division (Niners, Rams) before we put any type of ranking on this team. I like what I’ve seen so far, but not enough to earn that high of a ranking given the level of talent that we’ve faced in our first 3 weeks.

  12. Way too early. A bunch of them have the Hawks around 10. That’s fine. I’d personally prefer they sleep a bit longer but if we go 4-0 on MNF against the Lions that dream is over anyway.

  13. We are approximately the 14th to 18th best team in the NFL. We’ve beaten 3 bad (or down bad) teams and had some exceptionally shaky moments. Our o-line is tissue and instead of capitalizing on opponent penalties, we make 2 back just to keep the game fair. Hawks could EASILY jump 5, hell 7 or 8, positions if they fix these problems, but ranking us at 10 is an obvious overreaction based on the small sample size and September chaos.

Pass rush and elite receivers on their own does not a top 10 team make. The Lions are our first actual test. Sea legs Bo Nix and 3rd string QBs is not the metric you want to use to judge a team, unless your goal is to justify the highest possible ranking you can.

  14. 3-0 with a brand new coaching staff and we’re finally getting some recognition. Just imagine if our star RB and elite linemen were healthy.

  15. I’ll take what we can get.. We never get the respect the Seahawks deserve.

I don’t care if it’s against 3 below average QBs.

    We are 3-0.

  16. There’s a 9ers fan at ESPN that realizes they jinxed the season when they wrote an article predicting a Seahawks 4 win season. This is their futile attempt to unjinx it

  17. NFL.com has us at 11, which I think is more fair given the level of teams we’ve gone against. If we dominate a detroit team I can see us around 4. If we win a well fought battle against detroit 6-8 sounds about right.
