[Slater] The Warriors are signing Quinten Post (52nd pick) to a two-way contract ahead of training camp, per source. He’s a stretch center. To make room, they’re waiving Daeqwon Plowden. They still intend to bring Plowden to camp to compete for a two-way spot.

  1. Seems like Beekman’s and Pat’s spots aren’t secure just yet. Also we officially have someone above 6’10 on the roster since James Wiseman (forgot Saric was 6’10)

e: Warriors already waived Donta Scott, Yuri Collins, and Javan Johnson leaving Ethan Thompson, Jackson Rowe, & Daeqwon Plowden as the only e10s left. They have 1 spot left to use

  2. I wonder if there’s just a reality with Plowden because he’s been under contract the shortest that they have the least to lose wrt rights for him being the first one cut.

It seems like there’ll be a pretty stiff competition for the final twc, because you figure Post is guaranteed and the team will at least want to keep Beekman around for a year if they can justify it.

  3. It’s nice his status is no longer in limbo. Hope he gets a good amount of run this year, maybe even converted post-deadline if/when there’s roster space.

Gotta think the team is still eyeing a trade, if not to just dip out of the repeater. Assume Post will be the top candidate for that active roster spot when it finally opens up?

  4. And there it is. I assumed they’d waive Pat for Post, not Plowden.

But they’re still bringing Plowden to training camp. So there’s a chance they’ll waive Pat and sign Plowden to that 2 way spot.
