I agree and it’s so exhausting. If Larkin or Votto played for the Cubs or Mariners you wouldn’t even consider them.
Harang couldn’t light a fire under his own ass.
I guess this means Kevin Mitchell is out of the question?
Harang looked like he lit a fire under his eyes
I miss the old Harangatan!
When is someone going to bring up Scooter Gennett? Nothing screams “manager” more than an undersized infielder, and with a name that sounds like a 1950s paperboy, he’d be perfect!
the converse is true as well
Don’t forget though, Votto worked with the younger guys and they started hitting better. He left and now we have hitting slumps constantly
Paul Janish will be better than Sparky Anderson ever was!
Rob Dibble would get the job done.
Is this the Bronson Arroyo thread?
What’s that? Someone say Eddie Taubensee?
Votto knows baseball, but he’d get ejected too much as a big league manager.
Louder for the kids in the back.
Not enough people understand this. Being a good/great player doesn’t make one a good manager. Look at the list of current MLB managers. Not a ton of All Star games from their playing days.
Votto.
What about that Aaron Boone guy? He seems like he could be a good manager.
I vote for Corky Miller as manager. They say catchers make good managers.
