  1. If they could send Armia down last year. They can easily put Dvorak on waivers if they can't trade him. Laine and Dach missed a season. Give it a few games for them to work on the chemistry. Roy Kapanen and a refreshed Anderson should be a solid line. I don't see them playing two rookie centers. So this is Kapanens year. And Beck will be a call up if needed. And replace Evans next season.

  2. Appreciate your analysis and enthusiasm Josh & Jesse. I would like to see a line with Kapanen at centre with Roy and Armia on the wing. IMO this would be a very productive 3rd line. Since it is pre-season now is the time to experiment.

  3. Whoa, whoa if there was one guy that was lacking yesterday it was Dach It's normal for him to have a rehabilitation phase but if you think out of Newhook and Dach, that Newhook was the one lacking behind idk what to tell you…

  4. I think Newhook and Roy should be on the same line next year after Demidov arrives. So put them together this year. Go with Dach Laine and someone you want to move like Armia. Then next year, put Demidov where Armia is.

  5. Don’t think MSL or Hugo are unaware of Kapanen if fans can pick him out they are better at it. Think he is back to Europe until a few other things shake out. We need to get rid of some contracts on both forward and defense Also actually get something for who we do trade. So now we have Kapanen then Hage then Beck for upcoming centers looks good to me. Do you think Kapanen would be a better winger

  6. Remember last year, Hughes didn’t hesitate to waive Armia.. not Armia this year but someone else? Someone else who’s guaranteed to pass through waivers.. someone else with a name with the first letter “A”… Anderson played a decent game last night but he’s easily waivable to buy time for Hughes to make a Dvorak trade.. Kapanen is staying

  7. I listened to the post game and Martin St Louis was taking bout the buzz of the crowd getting excited about Lafeur going end to end and he's right. as for who plays with Dach Laine, does it really matter since we know Demidov will slot in there next year? And I am jumping on the Kapanen train, we need to make room for him. Gret show guys! GO HAABS GO!

  8. Be honest, can Habs get worse?
    Are they in their rebuild?
Can they be a top 3 division team?

You have a Pee-wee coach, and a group of guys that love playing in Montreal, mix that together, and you will get a good team in a couple years.
As long as the best french speaking coach is available

  9. Listen, trade talk is happening 24:7.

Evans, Savard, Dvorak, Barron, and several other players are on the block including Anderson.

Kapanen would benefit from 1 more year in the SHL.. but SHOULD start in Montreal.

  10. Saw Kappy at the WJ in Moncton against Sweden and he was the best player. Later that evening saw Hutson and he was the best player. We had two sets of seats for the US game so we could bounce back and forth to the offensive one to watch him work.

  11. Laine is our new Kovalev, but, will he soar even higher then Kovy? I think he can, he is younger then Kovy was, and our team is a young team trending upwards. He is coming in at the perfect time in his career in the middle of his prime.

  12. Let the guy get his legs back. Dvorak may be out this year but they need time to prove his value so we can find a team that will have interest.
Once he is moved there will be room for Kapanen.
