At least now we have a game where we can blame Dave for that is ACTUALLY on his play calling. These were indefensible.
Dodgers lost cuz they have pitching bottom of the line up is weak, and no bullpen ……Don't expect much
There have only been 3 triple plays to end the game in the last 30 years!
you all talking like San Diego played great teams last 2 months. When they played a great team they barely escaped. Take a look at what they played and won against the last two months. Cardinals, white soxs pirates, marlins, giants, and good teams did barely 500. Escaped. Stop giving them too much credit. They had a one hell easy schedule, except for really good teams which were few last 2 months they skated.
Should of kept Haywood
Post season is probably going to be similar to tonight and most likely gonna be worse so lets just hope next season the team will be healed and ready. This season is done.
Rojas is in a mini slump. He should have been given rest before the series. Therefore, Pages would have been better in this situation
50% Dodgers lose in the mind 🆚 SD and to late to react
Anthony is absolutely correct, every tactical option is a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" should've would've could've doesn't work in real time in this situation. No one expects a triple play with Ohtani on deck and no outs!
My thoughts going into the series was; they win the first game, they win the series and if they lose the first game they get swept because it really doesn't matter from there. Oh well, at least there's a very good chance we can see if the bye was the problem if my initial prediction is correct. Another game that the team could've won but they didn't. Knack was about as good as I expected. I saw him giving up 4 but I expected 2 2run HRs.
There's fans that complain about Ohtani swinging at bad pitches, but i never hear them complain when he hits a home run off one
Some atrocious takes from Anthony lmfao, seriously hard to tell if he's trolling
One thing that sucked tonight that is a silver lining: while the Dodgers had lots of outs tonight, a lot of them were loud contact, hit hard, but unfortunately right at people. Even the freaky triple play was because Rojas hit the ball so hard (99 mph), but right at Machado, who was playing in tight. Some days the baseball gods do not smile on you.
The basis of baseball is to anticipate the worst and execute a plan. It's team play. If you try to decide things on your own, the results will be terrible.
How can Rojas hit a ground ball into a triple play? Understanding there are no outs, with the top of the order due up. I’m thinking worst case scenario is a double play. Boy was I wrong!
lmao, jeff said “let’s bring scott in here and hear his thoughts.”
scott: i think that-
anthony: LET ME STOP YOU RIGHT THERE.
let him cook, man. really wanted to hear what he had to say there.
Rojas should have bunted or stand there and take the pitches or swing upwards because no double play should have been on his mind. No outs and the top of the order. Especially with Ohtani being on fire!
Padres own you
Padres have a healthy pitching staff
Dodgers have 80% of the pitching staff in the IL
The manager's strategy was a mistake.
The dodger organization doing it to themselves by keeping Roberts as manager LOL
We win together as a team, we lose together as a team…Let's Go Dodgers 🤘
I hope the oddsmakers are right about the Dodgers beating Cease, but I don't trust the political pollsters, either, lol.
Rojas needs to bunt !!!! Any little league coach calls that play!!!! This one on Roberts !!!
Padres really gain a lot with Juan Soto trade. And they identify two great starting pitchers from this trade while Dodger trade for Glasnow…
Rivalry a side, the Padres have proved that they are just a better ball club than us. There's no problem admitting that.
The narrative here cracks me up. Rojas hit it 97 mph…he smoked that ball…and had it have been 3 feet to the left or 3 feet to the right of Machado we'd be having an entirely different narrative. Two weeks ago Taylor barreled a ball 104 mph into a game ending double play and there was no mention that he hit it hard or that had he hit it a few feet to the right or the left of the SS we'd be having an entirely different narrative. No one said two weeks ago that if someone told us Taylor is going to hit it 104 mph we'd take our chances. LOL Being the fair minded person I am, I say Taylor and Rojas both screwed up.
The question I have for Roberts that no one has mentioned is why didn't Kiermaier or Taylor PR for Kiké? He just batted so his spot in the order wasn't coming up for a couple of innings, he represented the tying run and there were two guys on the bench that have a foot per second on him. I'm not including Pages here because it made sense to keep him in reserve to possibly PH later. I'd bet my bottom dollar that Machado doean't throw to 2B if Kiermaier or Taylor is on 1B and if he does they beat it.. Managing 101.
knack tried but he doesn’t pass the eye test as a MLB pitcher. Poor mechanics. Baby Brusdar and Casparious do
