  1. you all talking like San Diego played great teams last 2 months. When they played a great team they barely escaped. Take a look at what they played and won against the last two months. Cardinals, white soxs pirates, marlins, giants, and good teams did barely 500. Escaped. Stop giving them too much credit. They had a one hell easy schedule, except for really good teams which were few last 2 months they skated.

  2. Anthony is absolutely correct, every tactical option is a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" should've would've could've doesn't work in real time in this situation. No one expects a triple play with Ohtani on deck and no outs!

  3. My thoughts going into the series was; they win the first game, they win the series and if they lose the first game they get swept because it really doesn't matter from there. Oh well, at least there's a very good chance we can see if the bye was the problem if my initial prediction is correct. Another game that the team could've won but they didn't. Knack was about as good as I expected. I saw him giving up 4 but I expected 2 2run HRs.

  4. One thing that sucked tonight that is a silver lining: while the Dodgers had lots of outs tonight, a lot of them were loud contact, hit hard, but unfortunately right at people. Even the freaky triple play was because Rojas hit the ball so hard (99 mph), but right at Machado, who was playing in tight. Some days the baseball gods do not smile on you.

  5. How can Rojas hit a ground ball into a triple play? Understanding there are no outs, with the top of the order due up. I’m thinking worst case scenario is a double play. Boy was I wrong!

  6. lmao, jeff said “let’s bring scott in here and hear his thoughts.”

    scott: i think that-

anthony: LET ME STOP YOU RIGHT THERE.

let him cook, man. really wanted to hear what he had to say there.

  7. Rojas should have bunted or stand there and take the pitches or swing upwards because no double play should have been on his mind. No outs and the top of the order. Especially with Ohtani being on fire!

  8. The narrative here cracks me up. Rojas hit it 97 mph…he smoked that ball…and had it have been 3 feet to the left or 3 feet to the right of Machado we'd be having an entirely different narrative. Two weeks ago Taylor barreled a ball 104 mph into a game ending double play and there was no mention that he hit it hard or that had he hit it a few feet to the right or the left of the SS we'd be having an entirely different narrative. No one said two weeks ago that if someone told us Taylor is going to hit it 104 mph we'd take our chances. LOL Being the fair minded person I am, I say Taylor and Rojas both screwed up.

The question I have for Roberts that no one has mentioned is why didn't Kiermaier or Taylor PR for Kiké? He just batted so his spot in the order wasn't coming up for a couple of innings, he represented the tying run and there were two guys on the bench that have a foot per second on him. I'm not including Pages here because it made sense to keep him in reserve to possibly PH later. I'd bet my bottom dollar that Machado doean't throw to 2B if Kiermaier or Taylor is on 1B and if he does they beat it.. Managing 101.
