Los Angeles Angels FAIL at Failing White Sox, Mike Trout On Ownership, Washington on Young Players

Did the Los Angeles Angels serve the Chicago White Sox their record-setting 121st loss? NOPE. After Jack Kochanowicz, who has definitely earned his spot in next year’s rotation served up 7 scoreless innings, Hunter Strickland served up the first Sox run of the game, followed by a pop-up missed by Jack Lopez, costing the Halos the game. We’ll tell you all about it, plus, discuss if play-by-play announcer Wayne Randazzo was taking a dig at Angels ownership in segment 1.

Then, Mike Trout spoke to the media about ownership and how he believes the team needs to add, and Ron Washington spoke about the young players who made it through this season. We’ll give you our responses to their comments and what this means for the Angels in 2025!

  1. Kochanowicz again had an awesome outing. Low and effective pitch count throughout 7 innings. Ink him in as a starter for next season. Should have gotten the win, but it's unfortunate he didn't get it.

Enter Jack Lopez… Not going to make matters worse. Bad error at the most unfortunate time, it's just the Angel Way. Overall, I will say 20 Ks in 50 ABs for a 40% strikeout rate has done you in. Good luck on your next team.

Hunter Strickland thanks for an overall good season. Your second half hasn't been that great, but we must move on from you…

I don't have no faith Jose Suarez will help get us the win tomorrow. So we should tie the most loss record then. Thanks Arteball for the "Unfinished Business" season. You certainly will be recognized
    and deserve all this notoriety.

  2. 1. After that game, I'll be very disappointed if the Angels don't break the franchise loss record.

    2. I've been increasingly following the Padres the last few seasons and they're doing everything they can to peel me away from the Halos. It was a huge whiplash watching the Padres/Dodgers game right after this one. At the moment, they're an almost total 180 from the Angels in every way. Whether its the front office, team chemistry or just plain vibes amongst the fans and the dugout. The Angels have and will always be my #1 team, but I won't be surprised if most of my focus is spent next season on the Padres and at Petco Park.

  3. Must agree with you guys. I have seen this pitching pull all season long with Skip Schumacher. In this lost season for the Fish, where evaluation should be priority, we get 4.2 innings a game. No matter the pitch count, we can't see how these guys deal with adversity. Schumaker is petrified of the "third time through." In this season. Really? Which is exactly why teams should not keep a known lame-duck manager. He's playing for his next audition and not organizational needs, IMO. It's like kicking a field goal down 20 in the 4th Quarter. Useless.

  4. What if Trout offers to amend his deal over, say, 20 years? With the caveat that the money is plowed into player acquisition. Won't happen, of course, but it's a proactive offer that could be tied to a post-playing career in the FA.

  5. I think that supporting cast needs another season of marinating! The Angels need to hire a head hunter to poach the smart executives from winning franchises! The Angels need players with benefits!

  6. Great show! The game last night was wild and yet, totally predictable by any Angels fan. Not trying to spoil tomorrow's show, but is Ward the leader you're referring to? After Wash's comments and watching Ward come into his own over the last month especially, I wonder if he isn't the consistent presence the Angels need next season, not for his bat or fielding necessarily, but for his experience and ability to stay healthy. I may be a little biased because I am a big fan of Ward even through his rough patches, but I think the younger guys need him around in 2025 because he was the only veteran to remain in the trenches with them all season long in 2024.

  7. Unpopular opinion by another disgruntled Angel fan: The young core… sucks!
I’m sorry, but if we’re going to build a team around a bunch of .220/240 hitters, then we might as well buy property in 4th place and stay there. It’s not their fault, the Angels just can’t develop players.

And it feels like this is all intentional to relocate.

  8. This was a hard game to watch. Unless Arte opens his wallet in the off season, next year will be more of the same. Really bad, ugly and embarrassing baseball

  9. Strickland: TRASH
    Detmers: TRASH
    Anderson: TRASH
    Canning: TRASH
    Lopez: TRASH
    Drury: TRASH

That's only a partial list. The Front Office has so much cleaning up to do.

  10. Angels coaches need to learn Aaron Judges swing mechanics and teach it to our players , they are always going to be inconsistent if they don't. Great game by neto on sunday , but then 0 fer . Ohoppe also had a great game but then 0 fer . Inconsistent.
Ron Washington is a great defensive coach and a great mind set coach , but hes not a great hitting coach.
