[KNBR] MDJ on who is the second option for Warriors as a scorer: “The positive of that is that is a little bit unknown and so going out every night if you’re an opponent you say ‘who do you have to stop besides Steph Curry?’” MDJ mentions Wiggins, Kuminga & Podziemski as possible options.

All three will be rotating second options on the offensive side. Having all three at the best and trying to score is going to be good and needed. Then defense and holding opponents under 100 just for the sake of principle will guarantee wins. I think our 22 run defense meant a lot, while strength in numbers is key.
That is one way of saying “outside of Steph, this would be a 25 win team.”
Well thats a cup half full of view if I ever heard one
This sounds like some next level copium.
Podz is a valuable player and he does a lot to help win, but I don’t really think “scoring threat” when I think of him.
Wiggs will have to go back to 2022 playoff level, while Podz and Kuminga will have to makes tremendous leap.
I mean Do you actually see that happening?
Heavy, heavy cope. Cant wait for the season to start so we can start to move away from this Podziemski is actually Steph 2.0 BS

These guys are way too high on their own Podziemski supply if they are mentioning him as a possible second option. Podziemski scored 12.5 points per 36 minutes last season, a rate that puts him around scoring titans such as Alex Caruso, Chris Paul, Monte Morris, and Davion Mitchell.
Imagine any of those player’s teams mentioning them as a potential second option for this coming season, especially if they were 21 years old. Are the Warriors serious with this?
bro hit us with the “who knows” lol
good one mike, now give me plowden back
They went after PG and Lauri, didn’t work out. Maybe they can get someone before the trade deadline. I think the roster right now is better than last year but not by much.
Really dude… you mention Podz and not Moody at all even though he scored like 6 points less per 36
There is a difference between “fuck, who do we need to stop tonight” and “idk but whatever, doesn’t matter lol” 😮💨
Dead last in the west.
This chat is so stupid holy fuck
Yeah he could’ve articulated it better but we have players who can play. It’ll be scoring by committee and as long as they show other skills like defense, passing etc we’ll be fine.
As long as opposed defenses feel comfortable doubling Steph, the Warriors aren’t going to be doing well.
Kuminga going to surprise a lot of people this year.
Cmon man…
We’re cooked
1 criteria of a 2nd option? Gravity. It tells you everything you need to know about how scary they are about scoring. None of those 3 have real gravity, yet.
Why are we so sure Kuminga doesn’t make that leap? We keep writing him off every season he’s been with us. Like he has to do it sometime right?
Do you think Kuminga or Wiggs are a safe and obvious number 2 option? I don’t think they are even if Kuminga of the three is the most aggressive it doesn’t guarantee stability as a good #2 option. Since that’s the case of those 3 Podz is the better playmaker and connector on offense it makes sense that those 3 in some level more aggressive to however the defense is guarding. Wouldn’t be surprised if Podz averaged 12 shot attempts (especially since 1 constant thing he’s heard from the coaches is to shoot more 3s) along with him being a more natural and willing ball mover compared to those two.
Podz will likely get his points from offensive advantages like most players that aren’t clear first and second options like offensive rebounding, close out opportunities, and transition along with the ones he gets from on/off ball picks and second side actions.
I don’t think Podz is a clear #2 option nor will he develop to be this or next season but he has the offensive juice to do that from time to time where it isn’t just hot shooting especially with Kuminga bringing his typical aggression and if Wiggs is reliable enough in effort offensively.
It’s not gonna be a “hey Steph gets 18-20+ shots, Kuminga gets his 15+, Wiggs 12+, the rest eat the scraps” type of priority. Whoever gets the second side action needs to be aggressive there
It’s going to be Kuminga. Very little doubt in my mind.
Lmaoooooooo
Really, why do they have such a hard-on for Podz. I said last season that the 20 odd points against the Clippers would be an outlier, and it was. He played the most minutes of any rookie in history (possibly made up stat), and made little difference to the win column. He wouldn’t start on any other team in the West, but. Please God tell me he’s improved over the summer.
We’re already cooked
This is fucking pathetic man. Can’t even answer this question which every decent team can because it’s one of the most basic questions about a team. Yet they want to sell that they are all prioritizing winning now with Steph.
