[Rosner] Back-to-back training camps where Hudson Fasching gets hurt He told me that his preseason injury last year impacted him more than he would have thought, and then he got injured again in Montreal. Injury now opens the door a bit more for Foudy to take 13th spot.

Yeah, Fasching wasn’t as good last year as he was his first year here.
But that’s just how it goes in professional sports, especially if you’re a depth player. It’s dog eat dog, always someone else looking to take your spot.
Interestingly, if he goes on IR, that guarantees a roster spot for him to start the season. Which would also mean we don’t have an extra forward.
