  1. Ok, here are my takes:
    1. As a Dawgs fan, it isn’t about where you’re ranked to start the season, only where you finish.
    2. I think (I’m a homer) we’re better than 7th, but I’m pretty biased. I think the Preds roster is deeper than Dallas and Colorado’s. I could be wrong though.
    3. I could never root for Dallas (or any other team in the Central). I hate everything about them. From their dumb green jerseys, to their stupid faces (I’m pretty mature btw…). You can tell though that you guys are true fans of the game itself since you can pull your emotions out of it and look at it in a different light…. But seriously…. Screw The Stars! 🤪

  2. Emma, you haven’t seen the other teams, as constructed this coming year either. The only thing we all have is what’s on paper. As far as injury, all the teams have this risk too. McDavid gets hurt for example changes the Oilers cup contender status as well. So you have to normalize the injury risk. To me, a cup contender is a top 8 team, given the parity in the NHL. It is rare to see a dominant team post salary cap era. I’d say Nashville is a top 8 team on paper. Sure, injuries can diminish our chances, but cheer up as we have goal tending, defense, depth AND now scoring threats on 2-3 lines. Maybe we don’t win the cup, but I believe our chances are as good as any other team. As Trotz says, it is hard to win in this league.
