Jean Claude Van Damme (when he was our goalie vs the Blackhawks) was voted as most versatile, who was the toughest player in Penguins history?

  1. Kjell Samuelson. I remember back in the day he played with over 20 stitches in his face from 3 different cuts. Never left the games. Just got fixed up and went back out there.

  2. Rick tocchet, Kevin Stevens, Eric Godard, Nick Bonino (played the remainder of g5 of the 2017 SCF on a broken leg)

  3. Its not the correct answer, but I will always remember when Pascal Dupuis took a stick to the face, went to the bench, pulled out two teeth, then went back on the ice for his next shift. Absolute badass.

  4. It’s Lemieux per his back and hodgkins, scoring goals directly after treatment, not being able to tie his own skates etc. But in the spirit of the question, Tocchet personified toughness, changed the outlook of the 91-92 team and led to a cup. Then brought that same confidence to the 15-16 and 16-17 squads as a coach. Not sure any other tough guy had that kind of impact.

  5. Rick Tocchet. The dude started his career as an enforcer who ended up also being a really productive power forward. He had 109 points and 252 penalty minutes in 92-93 🤯

  6. Kris Letang died and came back. Mario had flipping cancer and came back. Sid’s brain popped and he came back.

I don’t even know what lens to answer this through.

  7. Gary Roberts with a nod to Trevor Daley and Nick Bonino for playing on absolute destroyed legs during the cup run.
