Professor’s last class. Sigh….
Hope he gets a roaring ovation.
I’m looking forward to hearing the atmosphere at Wrigley Field for Kyle Hendricks’ likely last game with the Cubs. There should be a very long standing ovation for him.
I’m going to miss Kyle. Baseball is becoming more and more about hitting 100 mph and he was the guy that showed there are more than one ways to be a solid pitcher. I loved watching other teams not be able to figure out how to hit a 89 mph fastball because the changeup was that good. We don’t win a World Series without Kyle. I’m going to miss him.
Since it’s not signed, sealed, and delivered, I prefer to think there’s a chance Kyle could end up as a Cubs bullpen pitcher. Might not be a big chance, but I hope he’s still a Cub next year (hope is kinda my thing)
Hope Hendricks has a great last game. He’s always been criminally underrated. He’s never been a flashy player. He never won any awards. He was never even an all star. It just feels wrong typing that. His stats in the 2016 NLCS vs Dodgers: 0.74 ERA 2 games started. 2016 World Series vs Indians: 1.00 ERA 2 games started. Just incredible performances that we absolutely would not have won without. His 2016 season: 2.13 ERA, best ERA in the league. 3rd in CY Young voting.
I’m at Wrigley for Karl’s last day. The end of an era 🥲
Criminal that Karl never got an all star nod. Cheers to a gem by The Professor 🍻
One last time
This is certainly Kyle’s last start as a Cub
This might be Kyle’s last start but I hope we bring him back as AAA depth, as long as he’s willing and not going to hang it up.
This guy for reds giving me clevinger vibes
Motorola M > Kroger with a little shopping cart
I’m still not convinced that JD likes/has any chemistry at all with Jon Sciambi. I don’t know how much of it is that he misses Len and how much is that he’s just tired
They cut to the booth sometimes and he’s got that Mike Ehrmantraut stare from Breaking Bad
Pat: Being held on by France, not the country
Wisdom with the wind blowing in is like….a thing that sucks. I’m still pretty tired, I don’t have a good analogy here
this is an erratic strike zone
Not egregious but annoying: an umpire memoir
That 2-2 pitch was an absolute dot
Kyle’s likely last start as a Cub. I’m sad.
Waiting with bated breath for the second run of this series
Oh Buschy please…
Why can’t we be normal.
how busch does next year and going forward is going to be a really big deal for us. he’s doing really well this year…for a rookie, with the expectation that he’ll continue to improve. if this ends up being who he is, 750-800 ops with good 1st base defense, that’s a fine player but definitely a little disappointing.
Wonder who we would have gotten in that braves deal.
Great, let’s listen to this dipstick talk for the next inning 🤮
Feel free to not stick around Jed, we assume you’re a busy man
Jed, how could you honestly believe this was a division contending team?
Jed must be happy this was a quick 3 outs
55 pitches through 5 shutout innings. Please string some singles together and score some runs for The Professor’s last class
“Good stuff” says Boog, about a bunch of verbal diarrhea that didn’t clarify or mean anything
