  1. This would suck. The NBA honestly sucks these days due to how reliant they are on hot takes and narratives and drama (which by the way their fans love and feed heavily off of, just look at the NBA Reddit for one). In a lot of ways, it’s not a serious league to follow, which sucks since I love basketball. Losing Passan for that garbage coverage would be sad.

  2. If Passan leaves who would be the lead MLB guy? NBA was WOJ (now Shams by default), MLB is Passan and NFL is Schefter.

  3. Man is so pissed about the A’s moving, he’s thinking about switching which sport he covers. Fuck Fisher, Fuck Manfred, and fuck the rest of the owners for not fighting this.

  4. Why does this make it sound like he doesn’t have sources/relationships and that literally anyone could just be chosen as the guy for breaking news?

  5. Passan is possibly the best news breaking reporter. He rarely if ever speculates & still writes amazing articles every once in a while. Would be real unfortunate to lose him

  6. This is the funniest post ever after seeing this sub slobbering Jeff for “being a true baseball fan, not just a reporter” just the other day.

  7. Would be the end of an era. But Jeff if they will 5x your salary you take that. Baseball will march on and we’ll still learn about breaking news

  8. I was so happy for Woj…but if we lose Passan, then I will drive to Olean tomorrow and…angrily stare at the campus because I’m too afraid of prison to do anything else.

  9. Ok so it’s between a guy with deeeep nba connections and a guy with deeeep mlb connections for an nba breaking news job. Sadly since this is ESPN it’s neck and neck ool

  10. I thought these insiders had to build their sources in a given sport over time? ESPN can just tell every front office to text a certain guy for scoops? That kinda takes a little respect out of the position to me.
