  1. I got into an argument on twitter yesterday about this topic. I made a point that, it’s about a 40-60 chance Seattle beats the lions or niners without their star D-line man. And not that you can cherry pick wins and losses in the NFL but having your starters sure as hell helps. -So, I said maybe they shouldn’t rush these injuries for this one game because we could use them in the long run and ESPECIALLY the Niners who come up in 2 weeks. A DIVISION THREAT. I got chewed out an opinion. They made a point that avoiding injuries never ends well. Still doesn’t make much sense to me.

  2. Load management as the fact that the NFL restricts contact during practice and how many practices we get. There are a lot of injuries this year and it’s slot or hamstring and non contact related injuries.

  3. I wasn't happy when they expanded to a 17 game season and I'm not looking forward to the 18 game season. I think load management is right. This is putting more wear on players, shortens the off season to recoup, and overall dilutes the quality of the product. I'd rather go back to 14 game seasons if it alleviated some of these types of calculations for teams.

  4. As players become bigger stronger faster along with contracts being so expensive, it is best, for business, for those important players to get breaks. Risk Management.

If the NFL is going to expand the season, the roster should also expand to compensate injury risks, and also aid in player development. I think we are witnessing this with Anthony Bradford.

    Blessings Brendon

  5. NBA contracts are fully guaranteed. NFL contracts are much more "pay-to-play" .I doubt many players would forego money out of their own pocket to be theoretically healthier later in the season. Maybe there's an effort to report or exaggerate a lot of minor injuries as a smokescreen to complicate opponents' game planning.

  6. I’ve been thinking about this the whole time I just get this feeling that Macdonald is doing this on purpose because he knows the season is long and want the team at its best during the gauntlet of teams we have coming up. Then I think no he wants the best out there because nothing is a sure thing in the nfl.

  7. Expect large turnover next year, when all these 1 year contract expire. The management is on a 2 year plan(including next years draft). good chance some of these players that are injured, might play a handful of games. They will not be here next year.

  8. I didn't like the 17 game season, and the 18 game season BETTER HAVE 2 BYE WEEKS IN IT!!! I do think Mike Mcdonald is doing load management, because I think he may have done it in Baltimore. A lot of baltimore games had key players missing on defense in the not so serious games.

  9. I'm thinking they don't use Kenny McIntosh because of load management I've said it a few times it's a long season and the more great players we have when it counts ahhh playoffs the better.

  10. I had a friend that worked on the training staff during the 2013 season when we won the superbowl. Percy Harvin was ready way before the Minnesota game and was fine after as well, they held him out on purpose because they knew the team could compete for a championship. Something to think about when understanding the caution that the team has been exercising this year
