  1. This is a good, honest .500 baseball team. We play .500 ball goddammit. Salt of the earth, punch the clock, even win/loss ratio baseball. We lose a couple, guess what? We’ll win a couple, too. But don’t get too excited or let it go to your head. No long winning streaks here, no sir. That’s hubris, which this blue collar, hard working everyman team doesn’t have. A few wins in a row, these guys, true to form, will balance it out with a couple a losses. Yes sir, that’s my 2024 Red Sox. A good, honest .500 baseball team.

  2. WE HAVE FINISHED .500 AND IN 3RD PLACE LFG (It’s the small things to be hyped about)

    Enjoy retirement Joe <O

  3. Thanks for the memories, Joe. We’ll miss you.

Thanks to all the fans who watched games with us in GDTs this season, too. For those who don’t stick around the sub this offseason, we’ll see you all in the spring.

  4. Nice to finish it off on a win. I’ll miss having the game to look forward to almost every day.

  5. Sucks we couldn’t hear Joe call some October baseball for his last go around, thank you for the memories man and enjoy retirement you deserve it.

  6. Definitely a fun year. Such a great start to the season, August was disappointing, but I think we finished on a high note: with a glimmer of what is to come. Like Joe said. This game can break your heart but damn was I proud of these boys and what they tried to accomplish.

Thanks for a fun time boys.

  7. You guys who hang with this team every game until the very end – you rule. The Red Sox will be a playoff team again soon, and its fans that watched the games over the last week that deserve that most

  8. Hoping for better next year! Nice to share the highs and lows with you lot. See you in spring.

  9. I love this team and I love being able to share the highs and lows on here with all of you. Amazing tribute to Joe today.

See you over the offseason and in the spring.

  10. There will be a lot of sarcasm and sneering here about a .500 finish, and I’m disappointed too, but the Rays are my second most hated team and it does feel good finish over them, and to hand them a losing record.

  11. Every year I feel like I blink and the seasons over.

After all the trials and tribulations of the off-season and regular season, it ends unspectacularly, at .500, almost like there was no need to play any games at all.

  12. Porn stache Gasper! Was at the game. Hoping he’d get a hit to end the season but wasn’t in the cards I guess. .000 avg is kinda impressive

Happy I got to see them end the season on a win though! Looking forward to the growth and improvement next year. I’m not holding my breath but hopefully FSG actually spends a few bucks to push the team In the right direction.

  13. Great W. Sad the season’s over. Happy to at least finish the year at 81-81.

    Congratulations to Castig on retirement.

    We’ll get ’em next year.
