[Instagram] PK Subban speaks out on Laine hit

This nails it right on the head.

  1. When you guys got Laine, one of my first thoughts were “you guys had pk, you will love patty”. Because to me they share similarities.

  2. > “Cedric Paré… nobody is paying the admission price to see him play”

    Fucking burnnnnnnnn!

  3. It all goes back to the same source. Refs are not penalizing things that should be, and the DOPS is soft as wet dog shit.

  4. Not that knee on knee between 2 depth guys is any better, but PK’s right. The league continues to fail to protect the guys that actually get people’s butts in seats.

What was motivating me to actually tune in this year was to see what this team could do with multiple scoring lines, but that just went out the window because of a gutless play in a meaningless pre-season game. And I imagine a lot of people feel the same.

  5. Honestly the amount of times in the last two games against the Leafs I saw them head hunt Hutson. He’s by no means a superstar yet but the Leafs were clearly targeting him and it was uncalled for in preseason.

  6. The fact that Xhekaj got a fine, and Pare didn’t even get a minor penalty is everything that is wrong with the NHL right now

    Edit:

You either have to let his like Xhekaj do what he did, or you need to call the penalties and suspend players when they do what Pare did.

I hope Pare gets his face punched in every time the Marlies play Laval until he finally drops the gloves

  7. I agree with P.K. but beyond this, the refs were incompetent, and called it the worst way possible.

Once Xhekaj was done with Pare, using all the magnanimity he could by keeping his gloves on, the refs should have given him a two, a five and a ten minutes misconduct. On the ice, everyone would’ve calmed down, and although the end results sucks, we’re back to playing hockey. Even the Toronto bench would’ve been ok with this call.

But no, the refs (or probably the Toronto NHL officials, we all know how impartial they can be) decided to add injustice to injury (game misconduct) so the net result is that you have players looking for self-justice all night, with no chance of any hockey happening.

I hope these refs don’t get to work in the post season, because there was no way to deal with this situation in a worse manner.

  8. I saw a feed where the commentator said Pare didn’t do it on purpose… 🙄

People see what they want to see but that’s delusional!
