Hey all,
The season is over and the team finished 81-81. Definitely not what we all wanted to happen this season, but it was still one of the most fun teams I've seen in a few years with all this young talent. Guys like Duran and Abreu popping off was awesome to watch.
I wanted to make a post to thank everyone who has participated in the subreddit in general and the Game Threads over the course of the 2024 season. It's been fun.
I know a lot of you will likely ignore this place for the next few months while you watch the Pats and Bruins and that's fair enough. But I'm looking forward to offseason speculations, trades, FA signings, etc. So I hope many of you will stick around.
Also, if you want to chat with your fellow Sox fans about stuff besides baseball (including other Boston sports teams), check out our Discord server: https://discord.gg/BuvDGmEceQ
If we don't see you, have a great winter! Go Sox!

Ah, time for the least mind-numbing part of the baseball season
The off-season

Thank you u/Bossman1086 and every other moderator on this sub for making our season a lot more entertaining
Overall, this sub has been fun. It’s hella better than Twitter or Facebook. I wish we’d settle down on the hindsight of Sale, but we all dream of what ifs. I have said, since I joined Reddit and found this sub last off-season, this is the off-season I think makes or breaks me as a fan. I’m either right, and the FO will get us some good players, like a pitcher, and make some moves to compete, hardcore, this next season, OR I’m gonna be one of the fuck Henry and the FO fans. We shall see what happens. Here’s hoping I’m right for all of us!
FWIW, the Sox beat the Vegas preseason over/under! (which was 79.5 Wins).
And they definitely beat the over/under of the poster here who threw a tantrum at me after the Sox didn’t get one of those overpaid starting pitchers. He announced his defection from Red Sox fandom and told me to “enjoy your 40 wins”.
I know we all wish the team spent more, but, I’m pretty confident they’ll get into the 85-90 win range next season and make the playoffs.
