Vikings-Packers reaction: Darnold spoils Jordan Love’s return, Minnesota 4-0 | Richard Sherman NFL

Richard Sherman reacts to Week 4 of the 2024 NFL season. The Minnesota Vikings remain undefeated as they held off a Jordan Love-led comeback, beating the Green Bay Packers 31-29 at Lambeau Field. Sam Darnold’s MVP case is gaining steam after the NFL passing touchdowns leader connected with Justin Jefferson for the fourth time in as many games. How far can these Vikings go? Did Jordan Love in his first game back from injury look like he could help the 2-2 Packers catch Minnesota in the NFC North standings?

  1. Top 5 offense last year (remember only had kirk for 8gms- so it wasn't just replacing kirk) Nailor healthy, brings the Wr up to 5 good(incl powell)add in Jones to soldify running gm
    Question can Darnold be solid✔️
The defense was shallow but good, ran out of gas, CB were light, lose big piece Hunter, but got a lot of blue chips in return more versatile deeper defense for Flores….add in Gilmore to solidfy one side of corner
Weigh the facts weigh potential less = success

  2. Agreed 5-0 against porous Jets is highly probable
Than a bye…. and 2 weeks to rest & plan for the tough Lions,at home, Det coming off a bruising game vs Dal?…..ideal situation going into a very tough gm

  3. I’m so hyped everybody’s finally seeing what USC fans saw and what a lot of people forgot about Sam. I always believed in Sam’s talent, but the infrastructure wasn’t there. Carolina is the most dysfunctionally-run organization in the NFL and nobody succeeds with the Jets.

The Jets are a revolving door for quarterbacks. Jacksonville extended Trevor Lawrence, the Giants extended Daniel Jones, etc. Meanwhile, the Jets get a new quarterback every 2-3 years and blame those quarterbacks when the team fails. Look at Brett Favre, Joe Flacco, and Aaron Rodgers. All Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks who “failed” at the Jets.

Then you take a 21/22-year-old kid straight out of college and start him right away and expect greatness and wonder why you go 3-13(14).

  4. Love Jones! Though it’s a business and it’s not a matter of if it’s a matter of when he’ll get hurt. He missed another 6 games last year.

  5. Richard is 100% correct about scheme. Under Zimmer, the Vikings ran a 4-3 defense. Under KOC they run a 3-4. Under Donatell, they clearly didn't have the right personel. Flores came in and they let him have a say on players. Their defense looked really good at times last year. This off-season they got players that perfectly fit in the Flores scheme. A number of his former players are on board. I love Danielle Hunter, but he is a 4-3, hand in the dirt, edge rusher. Instead of paying him, they brought in 2 guys who are better all around 3-4 LBs in Van Ginkle and Greenard. They brought in Cashman at LB. On the DL Tillery and Bullard have been amazing, and Harrison Philips was already good. They brought in Jihad Ward as a puzzle piece, and Pat Jones has been wrecking havoc. Finally they bring in Gilmore and Griffin at CB. I was expecting a top 10 defense because I understood what they were doing. I didn't expect them to be THIS good. For me the biggest question was Darnold. I said if he can play, this is the year to find out. I said if he can play like Baker and Geno, the Vikings could win 9 or 10 games and be in the playoff picture. And I was laughed out of almost every room when I said this stuff…

  6. The muff punt seemed the turning point with, obviously, some key plays. BUT Packers had some issues too like the missed field goals giving MN a shorter field (ish). Any case, first game literally a tail of two halves and as a Vikings fan, I think Green Bay SHOULD have won that game. They did have some opportunities for sure.

  7. U would think at 4-0 come Monday the Vikes would've been more celebrated and talked about by the media and talk shows more than these other teams. Now if they would've lost or Darnold looked bad, they the talk all day. Smh
