  1. i’m not even upset or worried, our offense looked really good and the defense was expected to struggle without 5 starters out vs the best offense in the NFC, also it’s time to give Geno another contract, the future is bright, on to next week!! GO HAWKS!! 💙💚

  2. We got absolutely humbled on defense. Yeah we are missing a lot of players, but apart from the expected lack of pressure, we couldnt tackle, cover or at least be in position to make ONE play. There is no way that Goff can be 100%, or can catch a TD for that matter. There were starters playing like 3rd stringers and 3rd stringers playing like HS football. I understand suffering against the Lions, but this was beyond bad.

The offense was nearly perfect. Geno and Walker can be a great duo. Even the OLine played a good game against a hard DLine from the Lions. We could have scored even more points if it wasnt from some questionable calls.

I dont mind being 3-1 and playing the Giants next, but we got a bit of a reality check here.

  3. Our offense played it’s best game yet, so if the D line had been healthy we would have had it will be my copium for the night. Now if you’ll excuse me I have a bath to take with my toaster.

  4. #The Good

**Geno Smith** – He played out of his mind today. No time to throw, got the ball out quickly, made great decisions, some truly elite throws, and great command with his audibles. That drive in the third quarter where he had to escape the pocket and extend on every play was insane. I think he had 1 bad play all day. Threw for 395 yards and had many more on the ground. Looked like a Top 5 guy today.

**Ken Walker** – You could make the argument he’s the best or second best player on our offense. He’s unbelievable making something out of nothing behind an O Line that won’t block for him.

**Derick Hall** – Grown man out there. He has taken the year 2 leap that inMafe did last year. Even without a ton of help, he looked good today.

**Noah Fant** – Had a sneaky good day

**Poise on the offensive side of the ball** – There were a few times where the offense just needed a long extended drive that ended with points to keep the game in reach. And they delivered despite a hostile environment.

**Offensive Playcalling** – Really good today (except for the 2 point try, and the 3rd down right before the 2-minute warning). Loved seeing a successful QB sneak. The hook and ladder play was awesome too.

    #The In Between

**DK Metcalf** – Made some really good plays today like the toe tap on the sideline. But the fumble in the first quarter was massive, as was the drop right before the half, and he continues to get holding penalties. I love him, but he has fumbled too many times while fighting for extra yards, and is good for a drop (or two) a game.

    #The Bad

**DT and Edge Depth** – Understandable with Mafe, Leo, and Byron out, but we couldn’t stop the run or generate any consistent pressure.

**Mike Macdonald’s defense** – Welcome to being a head coach, Mike. Yes we had injuries, but I think we had 1 stop all day, and Goff was at one point 18/18 with like 300 yards. People loved to blame Pete but defense in this league is hard.

**Spoon** – This is painful to say. But he got absolutely roasted by Jameson Williams, he got absolutely trucked by Monty, and he didn’t do anything when he blitzed today.

**The secondary** – Hoo boy. Roasted.

**Pharoah Brown** – Had a drop, a hold, and looked very slow all day.

**Tackling** – Remember when everybody said we couldn’t tackle because of Pete? lol

**Refs** – Not reviewing DK’s 2 point conversion, the ticky-tack 4th down “penalty” on Tyler, the no-call on DK in the endzone. Atrocious work today.

**Connor Williams** – Early snap on 4th down before we were ready, and killed the game for us. Outside of that he played well, but that’s a pretty critical moment.

    #Overall

Our offense was super impressive. They kept us in the game when our defense couldn’t get a stop. This game was closer than it should have been given that 5 of our front 7 were out.

We have a really good football team, but this was a nightmare matchup for our injury report this week. We have championship potential if we can learn some lessons and get healthier in key areas

Hopefully Mafe, Leo, Byron, and Baker can come back soon…

  5. The offense is finally shaping up, all things considered. We just need our defensive line healthy, and we’ll start putting together complete games!

  6. Missing Williams, Nwosu, Mafe, Love and Murphy is insane. Totally wrecked the defense.

Grubb is a genius, glad to know Macdonald doesn’t spite call doomed TOs on kneel downs and Geno is real

  7. It’s actually crazy how much their defense got away with especially considering they had 9 penalties against their defense.

But Geno balled the fuck out.

  8. Weirdly enough, I’m not too bummed about this loss. Geno played his heart out. Great game, but came up short

  9. Defense will get better when the DL is healthy, the offense did great. Still ontop of the division, we’re fine

  10. Seahawks played well. I did not enjoy how the refs called the game but we did not play good enough to win.

  11. Lions fans in r/nfl are not exactly a shining endorsement of the Michigan public education system.

  12. Can Detroit fans stop hating us now lol. Always felt weird rooting for the Lions only for them to hate our guts so much. Alright bros y’all got your payback, chill out lmao.

  13. Half the defense injured

Refs homecooking on the Lockett call and missed PI

    Random DK fumble

This is a double digit win in most circumstances

  14. We are a good team. We played an elite team and absolutely hung in there despite the d line injuries and refs.

  15. I’m not that worried over the loss today. We practically had half of our starters on defense out today due to injury by halftime. It’s whatever.

Only thing to note I think is that I don’t wanna see Gipson play on defense anymore.

  16. All things considered, this was a pretty solid game. Offense was on point, kept Seattle in the game everytime it might have looked like it was over. Geno was great, and havi g K9 back is huge. Without the DK fumble, this really would have been anyone’s game. And even still, we were on OPI call away from tying it up in the 4th.

Defense looked pretty terrible, but that’s to be expected with all the injuries (including Love). The secondary really needed to hold up today, but there was also little pressure from the front end… They were outmanned and outplayed today. Hopefully Coach Mac can tighten things up, but we really need Murphy / Mafe / Big cat back soon in the worst way. Anyways, here’s hoping they can get back on track against the Giants next week.

  17. 500 yards of offense against Detroit’s supposed vaunted defense is something to be proud of.

This goes back to last season but Geno has to find a way to improve in the Redzone as a passer. This has been the only real knock against him but if he can get this right, we should have a top 10 offense to pair with a top 10 defense (when even 70% healthy).

  18. Honestly, im not even that upset about this loss. The fact it was even this close while missing 4 starting d-line wirh no d-lune depth, missing baker, and losing love? I don’t even care that we lost.

Also, I know we always score high on the lions but this offense already feels way different than last year. I actually feel confident rhat we won’t be in 3rd and longs and will actually convert. Very excited for the rest of this year.

  19. Chiefs of the NFC has finally been revealed. Offense is amazing, Geno is a dog and anyone who says different is dumb. This was… one of the defensive games of all time, but it’s hard to be upset when we have practice squad players starting. This game easily could’ve been a Seahawks W and we should keep our heads held high. A few different calls and one less fumble and Seattle could be sitting at 4-0. It’s on to the next game, let’s regroup and hopefully heal up in time for the 49ers. Go Hawks!

  20. The officiating of NFL games these days is downright infuriating. There’s absolutely no consistency on either side of the ball. Neither team has any clue what will or won’t be called.

  21. DK got molested all night while the refs acted like the Catholic church and ignored it.

Fuck the refs and fuck that guy who planted Geno

  22. Currently at Ford Field. Crazy how fast Lions fans went from lovable underdogs to insufferable assholes.

  23. If refs correctly rule the DK two point conversion and also correctly call the DPI in the endzone (and we punch it in from the 1) that game looks a whole lot different.

Bad game from the defense but with the injuries it is what it is.

    Adjust and move on!!

  24. What happened to “all scoring plays are reviewed”. Not that the 2 points would have changed the outcome but fucking come on. Getting ref jobbed the entire second half

  25. Honestly, I don’t see any reason not to extend Geno at this point. He is a top 10 QB in this league.
