Cardinals Pass Defense Chart

Cardinals Pass Defense Chart

  1. Since I’ve been focusing on QB passing charts, I thought it was time to look at the other side of the ball. So, here is my first attempt at a pass defense chart—essentially the inverse of the QB charts. This graphic maps every pass made against the defense so far this season, using the same stats as the QB charts. The only key difference to note is that the color scheme has been reversed. A high completion percentage is obviously bad from the defense’s perspective, so zones on the field that fall under that category are now red instead of green. Conversely, low completion percentage areas are green.

    I’d love any feedback!

  2. Almost 100% completion percentage from 10 to 19 yards across 4 weeks is wild. They are picking our zone apart and just flat beating our corners and linebackers.

Then again, when you have no pass rush it’s pretty easy to beat any coverage.

  3. Rallings seemed really scared to run man defense and really press at the line of scrimmage. That’s part of why they ate us up. Having no threats on the edge hurts too. I miss the chandler jones days.
