What do yinz think?

Bleacher Report put out a list of every teams’ current weakness. I don’t think we have the best receiver corps in the league, but I can’t imagine this is the worst part of the team right now.

  1. I don’t know how much this has changed in the last week but I’m pretty sure we were second last in separation in the league even with Pickens.

I think RB is worse but I don’t think they’re as valuable as WRs.

  2. Our biggest weakness is the offensive line now but that’s due to injuries. Our receiver room is very weak and we need someone else here with GP.

  3. Aside from QB which is looking more and more to be a filled position I would agree WR is the Steelers current weakness (if we are talking about a healthy roster). With injuries I would say the oline and RB are currently bigger weaknesses.

  4. We need another playmaker on offense. We could get a real RB, but once Warren/Patterson are healthy that problem largely goes away. So that means we need to go and find a WR.

  5. How does the crowd feel about Roman Wilson coming into the lineup in the second half? It feels like he could be a nice change, but the longer he is a healthy scratch the more I feel like he won’t pan out

  6. i think oline is rapidly climbing the list given the lack of depth, and najees performance is concerning if warren and cpat are out, but assuming seumalo stays healthy WR is definitely the biggest weakness. these other weak position groups should be enough to get by and will improve as people get back off IR etc.

our WR2 is ranked in the bottom ~10 of ~120 wrs by almost every metric and the other guys not named george pickens aren’t doing much better. and this is with 0 injuries. sure you can count roman wilson as a guy set to come back but if he isn’t beating out scotty miller and van jefferson after 2 weeks of practice you can’t gamble on any upside being there. have to make a move for a quality 2 soon

  7. They’re just catering to the clicks of all of you idiots that won’t stop obsessing about our second wide receiver

  8. I didn’t read the article but I’m dying laughing at the image of Tomlin just yelling “WIDE RECEIVER” to no one in particular.

  9. Our biggest weakness is far and away coaching. Our defensive scheme is trash, the team comes out stale as often as not, poor game management, Najee keeps getting carries, etc… After coaching it’s probably RB between the injuries and Najee running in slow motion. An upgrade at WR2 would be impactful but it’s pretty low on my list of problems currently.

  10. Looking back at the play that Downs made to secure the Colts’ win on 3rd down, I don’t think there’s anyone on the Steelers (after Pickens) capable of it. And Downs is their 2nd/3rd best WR. It was kind of telling to see what a difference that position can make.

  11. The O-Line is looking rough. Daniel’s is out for the season and who knows when Troy is coming back.

  12. Well this very moment I’d call Oline our weakness, but yea WR is way up there. I’m not as down on Najee as everyone here is, and Warren and Patterson should be rotated in more for change ups, so I think RB is more a scheme to talent problem than just a talent problem.

  13. This is absolutely the worst part of our team rn without factoring in injuries.

If you factor in injuries, it’s RB.

  14. If you don’t count the OL injuries its 100% WR. Outside of Pickens it is a black void.

  15. Agree. Van Jefferson sucks lmao. CA3 is promising but he needs to develop a little more. Roman Wilson is essentially our only hope at having a reliable second option next to Pickens.

  16. No it’s definitely offensive line, then defensive backfield, then running back, then wide receiver.
