[Slater] Jordi Fernandez on the Nets’ starting point guard battle between Dennis Schroder and Ben Simmons: “I want to be put in a tough spot. These are two really good players. They both want to start, and that’s what I want…If they don’t meet expectations, they won’t be the starting point guard.”

[“Ben looks great, like everybody else. He practiced and there aren’t any concerns… Ben is no different than anybody else. As far as him playing with Nic [Claxton], two years ago, they worked very good together. Last year, they didn’t play enough games. So again, I’m not making up my mind because I know that his playmaking ability, his ability to play fast, how big he is defensively, same with Nic, I think that those guys can be very good.”](https://x.com/erikslater_/status/1841197512482570464)

  2. Everytime Jordi says something nice about Ben an Angel gets his wings and the haters die a little bit more inside

  3. I’m more excited for this season than I was for last season. We just got a bunch of guys who want to prove themselves and Cam Thomas. We will be bad, but it will be fun. No more divas

  4. Jordi is naming names, that’s fucking awesome.

I hate when coaches use vague comments and never follow through with it. For example last year when Kevin Ollie took over and claimed “only hunters will play” then proceeded to make zero changes to the rotation.
