  1. He’s doing all the right things. I’m always excited for Lakers basketball but this is great to hear

  2. I heard him talk about that the other day on ESPN I think? He said they’re gonna have 4 pillars that form their identity on each side of the ball. It already sounds better than “Helluva Ball club”

  3. I’m excited to see what he cooks up. Most excited about a coach that I’ve been since they first got Vogel.

  4. This guy is a basketball sicko.

And he’s got an identity a month before the season starts rather than half way through the season.

  5. JJ is not messing around with his opportunity. My hopes are growing by the day with this team. It’s going to be a fun one, can already tell

  6. Meeting leaked!

    Defense ID: AD help me!!!

Offense ID: Wow, Lebron is good. Lebron is out? Let Bronny cook.

  7. The offseason was a whirlwind. From the initial shock of Darvin Ham’s departure to the unexpected Dan Hurley drama, the Lakers’ coaching search was anything but straightforward.

Ultimately, the team settled on JJ Redick. While his hiring felt somewhat staged, it was a strategic move to involve Dan to avoid further controversy.

The Olympics offered a glimmer of hope. Both LeBron James and Anthony Davis demonstrated their continued passion for the game, dispelling any doubts about their commitment.

Despite the allure of acquiring a superstar like Mitchell or even Julius Randal since we all just figured out NY was willing to part ways with him. The Lakers opted to retain their draft picks. This decision suggests a long-term strategy focused on building a sustainable roster.

Behind the scenes, JJ Redick has been actively shaping the team culture. He’s introduced a new playbook and terminology, encouraging players to study and adapt.

However, the transition hasn’t been without its challenges. Some players seem less than enthusiastic during media sessions, possibly indicating a disconnect or concerns about the new coaching regime.

Nevertheless, it’s clear that players are being held accountable. The team’s direction is uncertain, but one thing is for sure: it’s been a wild ride so far.

  8. Love this move by JJ. He’s essentially getting ahead of any issues and letting the players know he has their back. Ham’s issue was that he was (not only a bad coach) but a captain who didn’t know how to steer the ship. But the ship keeps moving even without a real captain there, and that’s why most of the time he was just in the sidelines, unsure what to do aside from TED Talk timeouts, and we’d win games because of the roster.

  9. He’s a smart guy that’s into data and analytics.. players seem to like him. And he’s not Darwin Hamas.

Cautiously optimistic. I still think we will need some trades but we aren’t that far off from contending.

We led 70% of that nuggets series 😂😭

  10. things to consider are players egos getting in the way of an analytics based approach- will be mitigated by bron and ad being the unquestioned top guys on the team; who’s the the third best guy / the guy who’ll have the third biggest impact on our team, either on the court or off ? how will redick handle it ?

  11. I’ve been saying this since the rumors started about him getting hired. It’s a 100% better hire than hiring a recycled former NBA coach. I rather take a shot at a respected NBA player who is incredibly wise and curious.

  12. JJ giving the team the Remember The Titans Gettysburg speech

  13. I’m not gonna get excited about anything unless we are actively winning and looking like an improved team. We hear this stuff every single off season.

  14. From his regular pod and the one with Bron, it’s clear he is very much into the details as a player and analyst. If he can convince the young players to buy in, I’ll be very excited for the next few years.
