  1. They intentionally did a lot to push us out. The front office and ownership is wasting the players body’s/time and the fans $ by not doing things to win a championship or even just compete. The team should get sold or someone should put their money in the team. People quit this year and you can’t hide it. They refuse to invest more money or assets to help the major league team. They are a draft team or AAA with a guy or two they feel compelled to sign. We aren’t truly trying to compete so it’s hard to root for the team

  2. Hitting coach is the sacrificial lamb. These teams spend so much time on analytics that they forget to teach basic skills including bunting and fielding. The biggest loser here are the fans. It is very clear ownership has no intention of building a winning team

  3. Lets be honest the only answer to the question is: to save the Twins the Pohlads have to sell the team. It’s that simple. The ownership is the enemy in this situation. Anything short of ownership change well not move the needle with fans.

  4. Joe Pohlad doesn't have the ability to winback the fans. Rocco doesn't have the skills to fix a fractured clubhouse. Falvey doesn't have the ability to improve this team with the current payroll situation. As fans we are screwed. I am a lifelong fan and that won't change but it is going to be a hard stretch and there is no light at the end of the tunnel yet.

  5. Would help me get re-bought back in on the twins would be a apology from the front office and from Joe and then to say that they’re dedicated to trying to put a World Series team together and then follow up up with action that would make me go out and buy season tickets again.

  6. The Houston game where Miranda tied the MLB record for consecutive hits and Brooks Lee hit his first big league homer… That game was electric. In fact the series was awesome.

  7. Baseball is pure monopoly and has no competition, every team is profitable and there should be no excuses about payroll imploding like it did last year for the Twins.

  8. I don't buy the excuse, "I couldn't watch/stream the Twins." You could always ditch Comcast/Xfinity and buy a subscription to Fubo. It has hundreds of worthless cable channels, but I only ever watched BSN (for $90 a month). The best part was that I recorded every game on their unlimited cloud DVR, and for my sanity/anxiety/stress reduction, would often only watch the game later if they won. Yes I get that many old folks and casual fans still have their traditional cable with the boxes and wires etc. But the blackout would have been a great time to stick it to Comcast and make the switch!

  9. When you have teams that are playing well and organizations seem to care about them it is a boost to fan morale. Look at the Vikings and T-Wolves. Then you see the Twins and I have zero desire to follow them or care about them. Last years playoff run was a fun little distraction, but I have been a casual-at-best Twins fan since they let Hunter and Santana go years ago. If the Pohlad's don't care why should I?

  10. Free idea for the Pohlads, here's a 5 step plan I'm taking to start winning fans back and has nothing to do with fixing the team on the field (which is an entirely different discussion).

    1. Start a streaming service where fans can watch every game (let's call it $20 per month, similar to SD and AZ)

    2. When this streaming service is announced, it's also announced that the Twins will be covering the first month of costs for ANY fan who wants to sign up. Just put your email in and you get April free. No further commitment for the rest of the season.

    3. At the end of April, fans will be given the option to sign up for the rest of the year at a prorated cost of $60 for the rest of the season (basically 50% off – full price starting in 2026)

    4. For those fans who choose to sign-up for the rest of the year *SURPRISE*, you get a voucher for 2-4 tickets + a $20 parking voucher + hot dogs/drinks to one of X number of fan appreciation games throughout the season. AKA, come on back to the ballpark and enjoy a game on us!

    5. Go all out to make those games as fun and special as possible! Pick fun match-ups, pre-record some player messages thanking fans between innings, get Dave St Peter or one of the Pohlads on the field before the game apologizing to fans for the TV kerfuffle and thanking them for watching/coming to the game, kids run the bases after the game, etc. Whatever you have to do to make that a memorable experience for families.

Is this realistic? Probably not. Would it hurt their bottom line more than taking a crappy deal with Diamond again? Yep, 100%.

But that's the price paid for alienating a fan base that was so bought in before this year and making it borderline impossible to watch or root for this team over the last 12 months.

  11. The Pohlads are an embarrassment. So are the Twins! Glad I don't live or shop in Hennepin County as those poor suckers will be paying for the Pohlad playpen even though it has been paid for by now!

  12. It’s not even that they announced they were cutting payroll, it’s that it was immediately following the best season in 2 decades.

Plus It’s hard for fans to care about a team they can’t even watch. Dish Network hasn’t shown Twins games since Fox Sports North left.
