I legitimately think that Roschon Johnson is an elite talent

  1. This is not just based on the fact that we need his skillset in the running game right now, The guy is big and strong, and he can catch the ball. All of the sample sizes are small here, obviously, but i just want one game where we get this dude the ball 25 times. One time, let me see it.

  2. Every single fan base hopes and projects their mid round guys to be elite talent (especially RBs)

  3. Lol no.

He’s perfectly fine as a running back but the word “elite” means something.

  4. i agree. he’s a very hard working, very intelligent player, and I think there’s more value in that than the stat sheet will ever be able to show.

  5. Not elite, if he were we’d have seen that. Doesn’t mean he’s got enough of a chance tho and that he can’t do more than he’s done

  6. Roschon Johnson is D’Onta Foreman. Fine to decent guy. But let’s relax a little bit.

  7. He’s not Saquon, CMC, Adrian Peterson, Derrick Henry, or any other elite running back we’ve seen in the league recently. But he’s a good player, and he can make an impact on this team. And that is perfectly fine.

  8. I’ll entertain him being elite just because he’s never had the chance to be the feature back. In college and the pros he’s always had to be second fiddle, and it seems like his running style would benefit from getting a huge amount of carries to wear down the Defense and break off big plays

  9. I think he could be like Derrick Henry, stuck in a backfield with no chance. Take the chains off, BEAST.

  10. I think D’Andre Swift is an elite talent, we saw flashes of it last week against the Rams

  11. Roschon has the talent level of an average NFL backup RB.

It’s so strange how some fans are obsessed with this idea that he’s secretly an elite talent.

  12. Everyone has a different opinion on the backfield. I’m such a Herbert truther. I think he’s a legitimate good running back. Averaging nearly 5 ypc for his career, so it isn’t some fluke. And he just isn’t getting in the field at all. Confuses me. He has great vision and that’s perfect for a shit offensive line.

I really think roschon is a below average running back. He can put his head down and get an extra yard but I personally don’t see any traits where I’m like, wow this guy needs way more snaps. I think the limited role he has is fine.

  13. Gotta give Waldron the tiniest amount of credit for finally using Roschon correctly. I mean it shouldn’t have taken this long to realize he was better for short yardage, but at least it finally happened. The game before he had Swift in on goal line.

  14. 96 Carries for 408 Yards and 3 TDs, 4.3 ypa.

I also think he could be a productive NFL back but elite is overkill.

  15. Honestly, if he can get near Mike Alstott’s level, his value to the team would be elite.

  16. He’s too slow and is far from elite quickness. He’s a good player who gets the tough yards, but he’s far from elite in just about every category.

He may be one of the elite throwing RBs in the league though? Who knows? Would love to see that All-State Texas HS QB uncork a throw on a HB pass in the orange & navy.

  17. What you’re trying to say is let’s give him the ball more. This I can get behind. Our first downs are somewhat predictably running plays. Nothing wrong with that because at some level, to succeed in this league, you need to be able to run the ball when they know you’re going to.

Swift is more of a 3rd down back to me.

How is Rochon at picking up the blitz?

  18. Yeah, he’s elite. Our good-for-nothing coaches just can’t see it! /s

Come on, man. Saquon is elite. Derrick Henry is elite. No, Rochon would not be a top 5 RB on another team, he wouldn’t even start on most teams. He is ok. That’s all.

  19. I watched him throughout his career at Texas. He was excellent as a change of pace bruiser to spell Bijan. I’m curious to see what he’d do with an opportunity to be the guy, but I think he’s already pretty elite at what he does. Dude comes out and hurts people when you wanna take it to a defense.

  20. Bears have a good combination of running game talent. They need to utilize it correctly
