A Giant heartbreaker 💔 I watched that 2002 WS moment on the big screen at Downtown Disney. I was on Disney trip with friends who were Giants fans. Spiez forever goated for making my friends miserable on that trip 😂

Spiezio overcame 13-year battle with substance abuse after retiring from baseball.
He was just an okay player but I liked him when he was on the A’s. He played in a band called Sandfrog. The band performed at A’s Fan Fest in 1998 at Jack London Square in Oakland. I remember them playing in front of the pavilion area where Barnes and Noble (now Plank) was.
I unexpectedly became teary-eyed typing this out knowing there will never be a Fan Fest again and the A’s are gone.
Haven’t heard that name in awhile
hit probably the most important HR in angels history in g6 of the 02 WS to cut the giants lead to two runs. angels had nothing going for them until that HR
